Morgana is the worst party member between the three games so definitely not him

What do people even dislike about Teddie? Is there something about the actual character or do people just find his voice and bear puns annoying?

He's a mascot character having an existential crisis about being a mascot character. He's great.

Teddie is by far the best 'is an actual character' out of these three. Disliking him because he's annoying is reasonable though.

I like both Teddie and Morgana a lot, but Teddie a little bit more. He was my favorite of the Persona 4 cast. His English voice is god awful though. I've never heard Morgana's though so I guess it could be just as bad

I don't see why there's any debate. Teddie is the best-developed of the three and his puns are critical to the party's chemistry developing - he really adds a lot to the dynamics (and he acts like a teenage male, so IDK why people have a problem with that, especially considering Yukiko flirted with him too). His identity crisis and trying to find out what he even is gets him a lot of points since that's so easy to relate to. Teddie's also the best in battle of the three.

Koromaru has a good design and a versatile moveset, though his damage output is pretty bad. His backstory is pretty simple and we don't get anything interesting with that... I haven't played P3P though. Purely talking the original here. P3P may help me have a reason to actually remember him.

Kitty is the worst character in battle in P5 because his defenses are so paper-thin that he dies before he can perform the healing he needs to. He's also the most obnoxious of these three, and it's not just due to him being what the game uses to tell you to go to bed because you have something the following afternoon. It's also how his Ann fetish is creepy due to his insistence that he's human... when he's not.

Feel like Teddie was most useful in combat of the three.

Teddie is actually one of my favorite characters in the series.

Morgana sucks and Koromaru may as well be an NPC.

Also, Teddie honestly shouldn't even be on this poll considering he's not an animal.

Anyways:

Dislike Morgana for being boneheaded and causing a certain palace to be harder than necessary. Also hate nav work before 2nd best girl joins.

Tolerate Teddie's puns but hate his nav work before Rise joins.

Koromaru doesn't talk which makes him way better than half the party by default and also it's a friggin dog with an Evoker. Win by default.

Morgana is annoying and a simp but I like his design better than Teddie.

Koro isn't a character

Teddie is whatever, but the story focused on his bear-boned story for too long. And his voice was annoying

Morgan is good- except for the part where the plot required they play the heel for no reason other than to waste time

Teddie is the only one here with an actual sort-of character development arc. Which isn't saying much.

His character arc takes far too long for it's incredibly obvious conclusion.

And he's kind of just.. A total creepo sometimes.

I haven't played 5 (+) yet, so can't vote in this, though I do have Strikers now, and I've picked up people tend to prefer it as an expansion over Royal.

Koromaru is the best, also the most animalian of the three. The other two are more like plot devices.

Now this baffles me. Teddie is flirtatious and has some goofy notions of chivalry but if that's your angle, I can think of several characters in Persona 4 ALONE that are much worse.

In the context of their original games, I'd say Teddie. He's a really fascinating character from the perspective of how his personality slowly develops based on the dungeons he goes through and those he hangs out with. He starts pretty reserved and just wanting to impress, but as he hangs out with horny teenagers more and goes through a bath house and strip club, he starts learning the wrong lessons on how to interact with others. He's almost entirely shaped through the plot of Persona 4, warts and all, and yet remains an indispensable member of the team. The whole game is a learning experience for him, and while it's a straightforward and on-the-nose arc (which, to be fair, 90% of Persona arcs are), it's a nice slow burn narrative that toys with the idea of a traditional mascot being reflective of what they represent - in this case, the Investigation Team. Koromaru, by contrast, is a good boy who can and will never do anything wrong, and Morgana has his own arc that... actively eats into other characters' development and is ultimately a lot more traditional while getting swallowed up by P5's massive pacing issues.

... but remove Teddie from the context of P4 and he's absolutely insufferable. No character suffers in spin-offs more than Teddie, him losing his purpose and only being left with puns, harassment, and constant fits of whining that he's not in the spotlight enough. It's really obtrusive at best and writing bad enough to want to stop playing at worst. Morgana, meanwhile, just kind of stays at the same spot, not particularly interesting outside of P5 but less of a weight around the game's neck, and Koromaru gets meme'd into being "the best boy always comes out on top does everything right". And that's really fun.

Overall I'd go Koro > Teddie > Morgana, but Teddie > Koro > Morgana for debut appearances.

Persona Q/Q2 Teddie is an absolutely awful character you're right there.

I didn't really like P3 much so i voted Morgana.

I thought Teddie was great in Persona 4 Arena (the original, never played Ultimax). Mostly due to how he acted as a foil for Labrys.

The other spinoffs...yeah.

I can't remember much about the dog in 3 so i went with Teddie.
