Are you going to stop having Netflix due to their sudden price hike? (and the fact they are now collecting taxes in some places.)



They are going to want $15 for a month for HD and then add tax to it for total of $16.20 or so. So I've let them go.

Their prices have spiraled out of control. It was like half this when I signed up 12 years ago. I should have been grandfathered into a reasonable price.

They do not.
It's similar to Amazon prime. I may use Amazon 1-2 times a year so the subscription itself makes no sense based on how I buy product.

I don't like their interface. They keep displaying genres I don't care about. If there is something that sounds interesting I don't know what language it's going to be in because they don't filter for that. Even when it does have English audio it still might not be.

If the price was the same everywhere, they would probably do this. However, taxes can vary greatly from country to country, state-to-state, even city to city (although I doubt city taxes would factor into an online streaming service)

To this day, I have yet to pay for a Netflix subscription, because I'd usually wait for a free month to be available to catch up on the few shows that do interest me. They have not offered me a free month in well over a year now. This rise in price? I'm less inclined to pay them than I have been.

That and NOBODY expects taxes to be in an advertised price because nobody does that. It's not a common practice with anything except gas, and the taxes are hidden there because it's multiple forms of taxes and the government has a vested interest in keeping that rate out of peoples' eyes because it's insane.
