When your portfolio goes red so many days in a row you become numb to it and the mind game is lost

Another red day. I decided to go into IBM. I didnt like the two IPOs enough to take the gamble.

Bought some 395c on QQQ that expire early next month

No worries. We'll be back.

Bought more SOFI.

I'm hoping I'm not making a BYND style mistake here. They are currently my biggest losers (in dollars).though SOFI, before it crashed, was my biggest (though sadly unrealized) gain.

Wherr all the memr stocks going to? Crypto is down too

People are running out of extra money to play with investments.

The tapering isn't helping.

Now is probably a good time to buy if you have cash. I have cash and I have margin and I'm considering using both.

It's risk-on vs risk-off depending on Fed whims. If you think they'll walk away from the rate hike ledge, plow back into equities/crypto.

Or just buy pokemon cards regardless of policy, idk

The Fed stuff is a big deal, it seems.

It's all a sham to scare people out of investments before they pump them back to where they were on pace to be

I feel like we're getting to the point that we're going to have to look at intrinsic value of assets.

I remember the bubble with Dot Com stocks and collectibles. Things like Funko Pops are too similar to Beanie Babies, and Pokemon cards are...well, still Pokemon cards. As we have less free money and accessible debt available, we may see the value of those things fall.

I'm considering getting into gold or other commodities now.

IBM is somehow green today. I played that one well, so far.

Pokemon is booming tbh. Some eras are at an ath and every era is higher than it was two years ago.

But it requires a lot of knowledge, high barrier to entry.

Also the thing to remember about pokemon is its interest is self renewing as long as there are games, remakes of those games, and anime. It's the most successful franchise in our world's history and that's what makes it unique

Good call on IBM! I think it's an anti-growth stock, so it makes sense in an environment where people expect higher rates.

Nasdaq ended green for the day. Impressive turnaround.

IBM just got downgraded from neutral to sell. Sheesh, so much for that pick!

Sold for a $10k loss. Lame, basically undid my past one months worth of gains in one day. Maybe Ill double down on JW, though Id rather wait for this red string to end.

Today is green for me but the last 2 months have been really painful. Hopefully this one is actually the bottom and not another false start.

I think ACI is slightly undervalued. They beat earnings expectations and the stock went down almost 10% today? What?

They peaked at around $35 a while back and it trading at $28.79 currently.

I'm holding long term because I think they're a good company in general and they also pay dividends.

I've noticed that beating earnings "expectations" slightly seems to consistently result in a pretty big decline in the stock price. Seems like the market's expectations are a good deal more optimistic than analysts.

The market makes no sense.

I was looking into ACI today for that same reason.

So far, it's my best performer. I bought in at around $18 and it was almost double that at one point. I want to put more into ETFs and sell some of my individual companies, but I plan to hold ACI for a while.

I also genuinely like SOFI even though it's a big loser for me currently. I think it's a good long-term hold. I heard about them years ago and thought they would do well. I expect the stock to do well, but likely months or years from now.

I don't know of short term gain stocks, honestly. I don't have the time to play the market as I did before.

DKNG could be big in the mid- to long-term.

IBM was a good buy after the drop from earnings.

Lopen talked me out of that one, which again, he sucks etc.

all gambling stocks i think i'd avoid unless you're willing to hold it a long while. penn/dkng/fubo all kind of have been beaten down on the same scale.

only 'safe' online betting options right now i'd consider are caesars and mgm, mostly because of their resort footprint. those two are being beaten down as well

if something breaks out, i suspect the rest of the securities will follow as well.
