he picked up my order was on his way to me then disappeared off the app. Uber Eats notified me of my order being cancelled.

He looked like a thug based on his mug shot pic he had. thats probably the 2nd or 3rd time iv had that out of 50 orders

I know exactly the direction this topic is going.

Did you get your money back at least?

Also report them, I am sure they can get confirmation from the restaurant it was picked up.

Not really, I've had orders mistakingly dropped off at my place(I don't use these apps) and the resturants they came from have no idea what went where, as long as they get thier money they don't give a fuck.

This is gonna happen every now and then with UberEats. You're basically paying someone who can barely make ends meet that's also pretty much a private contractor to deliver your food. And uber is taking most of that money. Sometimes shit is gonna happen. Solution... get off your ass and go pick up your food

There is a special place in some sort of hell for those kind of people, along with truck drivers who take 2 parking space, and assholes who buy cigarettes and lottery in the express lane at the supermarket.

I do tend to blame people for complaining about something that is inevitable yeah. But also, I'm absolutely gonna blame uber for underpaying their employees

I'd say 1% or less. I've literally never heard of it and it's never happened to me. Only a handful of people on this specific board I've seen talk about it.

Yeah this has literally never happened to me and I use doordash and occasionally GrubHub. By your percentages I should have been robbed of my food once or twice. I had 21 orders over the last year.

Doesn't have to be. A lot of drivers use multiple apps at the same time so chances are the people who delivered my food also deliver for UberEATS

I've ordered from Ubereats hundreds of times and never have had an order stolen.

So the meal sat in my fridge for a few days with the hope this would have been resolved, but it was not. I ended up tossing the meal, all because someone misdelivered and Uber Eats has a terrible design flaw for such matters.

No, I'm not signing up for a service and downloading its app just to tell you you need to come fix your damned mistake.

Should have just eaten it instead of letting it sit in the fridge for a few days. Were you expecting them to come get it? Maybe in the first 10 minutes or so if the mistake had been noticed. But even then, unlikely once it's been taken by the wrong person.

This story doesn't make sense to me. You were trying to get into contact with an automated system expecting some kind of answer? You held on to the food for days? Once the food was out of their custody they probably wouldn't have even been allowed to take it back.

A weird thing that I see some racist minded people is when they slip up or use a questionable term its all I dont even know what race that person I judged was! Like if you took the time to form an opinion about them then I find it kinda sketch that you didnt notice whether they were black, white, or even one of the other possibilities.

Its ok to notice that someone is a race. Its a normal thing. Just dont let that be the thing that makes you form an opinion about them. Cause you dont know them.

Maybe this food thief just fucking shit himself. It happens. Would you really want him to finish the delivery? Some random stranger with a bunch of poop in his pants?

I was trying to get ahold of a person, not a system, but it didn't work. The email I got back said only that the reception of my email would not be immediate, and I'd said in my original email that I would cold hold the food for a reasonable amount of time assuming I would get a response. It was right before Thanksgiving, so I knew it would take an extra day or two for any sort of response, if any. Otherwise, I'd have tossed it the next day.
