To me they are basically the most generic rock band in existence and have no distinct style or do anything remotely interesting sonically or lyrically. I was kind of in the same boat as a lot of people here of liking their music but not really being a huge fan. When I saw them rock out live, it really changed a lot and I became a hardcore fan ever since. Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters seriously put on such an amazing show and the energy is off the charts. I've even seen him with a broken leg rock harder than anyone else. The Bottle Rock show a few months ago that they performed at was such an incredibly fun time. Lots of other good bands have ups and downs.
