Georgia's defense has been full of so many holes this game it's amazing they've held teams down the way they have.

Which needed Auburn to choke to it to actually put up any points.

Alabama just flat out looks like a better team than Georgia.

Anyways, Alabama's already done enough to stay ahead of ND if they lose.

ND still needs Cincinnati or Michigan to go down.

Thanks for choking Alabama back into the CFP Auburn.

32-6.

Ok then.

And a quick TD for Cincinnati puts up 14 points in 30 seconds.

Looks like it didn't matter for Ok State - They weren't getting in anyway.

The routs are on.

And Alabama was probably getting in even if Auburn didn't choke.

They're going to put up like 55 on Georgia.

1 Alabama 2 Michigan 3 Georgia 4 Cincinnati

This lets then avoid the immediate rematch. ND ends at #5 for like the third time.

Sounds accurate, assuming Michigan wins. They lose and ND should sneak in, unless the commission is feeling dangerous and allows Baylor or someone else.

They'll swap 1 and 3 to avoid the immediate rematch, then the rematch will happen in the final and Alabama will crush them again.

Like I said though, I'm just here for Cincinnati. I stopped watching Georgia/Alabama once it became obvious Alabama was in no matter what.

The last time Georgia and Alabama played in a final, I was so disinterested that I didn't even know who won the game for like.. Two weeks?

At this point it's basically root for Cincinnati because of the shit storm it would cause if they win it all. Realistically they have no chance though. It's pretty annoying that Bama and Georgia once again look so much better than everyone else but what are you gonna do, other teams have to get better. Can't fault them for doing what they are supposed to do.

Kind of the point though. College Football isn't just scummy, it's boring most of the time. I've been on this board since 2015 and I've never even been in this topic until two weeks ago because the Bearcats are actually interesting to me.

The moment they go out it's just more of the same and I couldn't care less.

It's not like anyone is surprised that Alabama is blowing out Georgia so hard that they'd still be in even if they lost that game to Auburn, right?

College Football is going to end with the most boring and predictable national final ever, once again, and that kind of thing destroys a sport for me.

I'll give it that it's at least not as bad as the NBA is. Most of the time, the NBA season is meaningless before the conference semifinals at the earliest, and teams know that these days which is why players are "rested" so often.

There are two major sports I don't watch: College Football and the NBA. What they have in common is they completely lack parity 9 years out of 10.

Seeing lots of people on Twitter suggest Notre Dame over Georgia which is absolutely insane to me. Georgia getting outclassed today doesn't suddenly make the rest of their resume irrelevant. They have been dominant all year and their resume is going to looks far superior to Notre Dame.

I only mention it because these are mutual followers not randoms which is why I'm perplexed. Like did they just forget the rest of the season happened

Ah, the "contests suck because Link is just going to win anyway" mentality

I don't really care who wins the national title if my team isn't in the running for it. Those three playoff games don't undo how fun the rest of the season is.

Michigan is a 12.5 point favorite against Iowa. I wonder how much they'll be favored by in the semifinal game.

And maybe... 6 are relevant on a good year?

The rest essentially just exist as fodder on a lower plane of existence than even the Jets.

Honestly I've known for years that if it weren't for giving myself an actual stake in NFL games I wouldn't actually pay attention to nearly as many of them, especially later in the season.

Like, Bears/Lions was a game that "existed" last week. I only cared it existed because I gave myself a rooting interest.

It's just like I don't care what my record ends up at, I only care where it ends up at relative to other people who matter. I can go 4-10 this week and still have a "good" week so long as the Patriots win. I could also go 10-4 and end up with a bad week if they lose. That's how much this week hinges on that one game, and why I've said it's the only one that seriously matters.

Fake Punt on 4th and 15 from their own 40 against Alabama that results in a 4 yard pass to a guy that gets eaten by 6 Alabama players so fast the first down line isn't even on the screen?

When you dissect Georgia's resume it's not as good as you'd think. After a 3 loss Clemson (who they very much did not destroy mind you) their best win is... Kentucky or Arkansas?

Buuuut I'm not gonna pretend that ND's is actually better.

Well one of their main arguments is that the ND/Cinci game was a 1 possession game until the final couple of minutes which just seems a complete misrepresentation to me. From what I remember Cinci dominated them and should have been up more before fumbling late in the 3rd near the red zone and then like 5 minutes of madness made it a 1 possession game. Then Cinci immediately scored again and closed out the game.

So I guess technically it was a 1 possession game late but they're acting like it was close all game and a see-saw contest but unless my memory is shit, Cinci just failed to put them away by missing like 3 scoring opportunities (2 FGs and the fumble?) and then tried choking the game away.

Notre Dame is 0 threat to pass Georgia. Cincinnati should, but won't to prevent the rematch.

Anyone who says Notre Dame has a chance is obviously biased.

It's Notre Dame or Michigan. Plain and simple. Everything neatly tied together for the committee this year, just the whole.. Having no choice but to let Cincinnati in thing.
