The weird thing is there have been plenty of revelations about how horrible this Alec Baldwin incident had been to conceivably make all these posts. So its conceivable many people had no idea there was some weird crap going on here.

If she's meant to be the exact same character as Mary Jane why not just keep that name? "Michelle Jones" strikes me as a pretty obvious way of hedging your bets, so if the audience reacts poorly you can bring in the "real" Mary Jane later. Regardless of the weird way this argument went I'm pretty sympathetic to Lasa's original position (and I agree with Dels' last post too; this style of headline is super common and very, very tabloidy)

Yeah, this just seems like a complete failure to follow protocol from every direction. I heard that Alec Baldwin was firing when he wasn't supposed to as well, but I can't find a source for that.
