The feud between her and the head of the Chicago Branch of the Fraternal Order, John Catanzara escalated when she brought the fight to court and file a complaint for Injunctive Relief against the union and Catanzara She said the police union president was engaging in, supporting and encouraging a work stoppage or strike The judge muzzled Catanzara ordering he not make another statement for potentially causing irreparable harm by advocating for sedition and anarchy by disobeying government officials The Chicago Police Union is the second largest in the country and when asked how many of their officers are vaccinated, Lightfoot said they don't have the final numbers yet as they are continuing to verify it. OpenVAERS is actually a legitimate CDC initiative, designed to collect data from the general public instead of being limited to what health care practitioners see (which is inevitably only going to be a tiny subset of actual issues because most issues don't prompt people to consult a doctor, to say nothing of the risk of bias). Being so open does, of course, result in considerable credibility issues and a whole lot of wild goose chases, but it still has value as a more comprehensive picture of potential reactions. As for why he'd go there instead, that's obviously because the bad numbers are bigger and therefore better for justifying the fear he feels. He was never interested in making a logically sound point, just in finding something that says "don't worry you're not just scared for no reason" and disseminating it so he can pretend people agree with him. --- This is my signature.
