Well I'm glad my not getting a second save wasn't the make or break for Freya

Honestly any placement after she should have gotten eliminated in 12th is amazing, so getting all the way to 4th is wild. It's cool to have gotten a run with her finally, I've always tried to throw her saves over the years but my other characters took priority.

Now I'm free of trading, I'll probably throw a save or two to try to keep Agrias out of the final (nothing personal, I just hate this trend we've been having of a goat boring final. I'd much rather something at least half interesting with Aerith/Kefka)

As the person who has saved Freya to send her forward multiple times this contest, I think you should support Agrias.

In fact, EVERY Freya supporter should run behind Agrias in the next two rounds so she wins in the final and kills the 'try to drag a loser to the final' strategy.

I want to make it very clear since I can see my trade request to Ark being misconstrued:

I want an H1 trade with an Agrias saver so I am free in H2 - if there is an H2, and you know me, I will be in within the first 10 seconds of the round going up - to give me 2nd save to whichever is unsafe between Aerith and Kefka.

I don't know if Kefka can win that final and it's kind of tearing me apart but am definitely more interested in that than Agrias making it through.

For the record yes Agrias is easier to beat, but I still like her more than Aerith so she's the ideal opponent for Kefka to me for multiple reasons.

personally i do not want Agrias in the finals. would rather avoid both a trend of Tactics losers and people being sick of Tactics in the final before Ramza's run next year.

Delita is a much stronger finals matchup and he got pasted by Squall. Agrias has no chance against either of these characters around Squall's level.

I would put Squall above these two in a finals setting personally. Considerably. I also wouldn't say Agrias is weaker than Delita by any considerable amount in a finals setting.

Yeah. Aeris is. This isnt some random come from nowhere for her. She should have won a couple years ago, and has been strong as hell the last half decade.

she wasn't strong until the remake, so it hasn't been THAT long. she is strong though. i think both Kefka and Aeris would have beaten Squall in a finals last year.

Tidus beat Kefka and I think Squall > Tidus in a final (stats don't say that but a final isn't the same as round to round stats either)

Statistically I think it says otherwise not that I remember where Aerith places, but I dont think its top 10 in either stats? Squall thoughhes a consistent beast in this contest.

the userbase is also different now than it was then. Squall lost to Zack back then, which is even worse.

I dont really care about all time for a contest that it happening tomorrow. Aeris wasnt strong 20 years ago, shes a current juggernaut. Thats what Agrias would be up against, and even if it was Delita or anyone else it wouldnt change what would happen. She is currently on Squalls level. Same for Kefka. I think Aeris is slightly higher than Kefka myself, but were all gonna find that out in 24 hours, arent we?

This is a fair argument, but these moves will at the very least provide awareness about the game and get people to give it a shot. And truthfully, this contest is less about winning and more about celebrating the greatest game series of all time (That's not Zelda I admit I love Zelda too much): Final Fantasy. I also don't really know about Ramza's chances next year given I don't think he has enough weight, seems this community prefers Delita and Agrias even though I think Ramza is potentially stronger in a finals setting. But alas, I'll still support him. And worst case there's like a couple dozen FF characters I also considerably like. Aerith and Kefka are among them!

I think Agrias in a finals would be competitive, with the floor being Squall/Delita and the ceiling being potentially higher.

"new" stats still goes back 10 contests. Aeris has been strong for exactly two (since the remake). remember, she was lawyered out last year, had a strong chance of winning if not for that and does once again.

I think when people think of Aerith they generally thought of the more flanderized version of her pre remake (FF7 compilation/KH etc) where shes more holy and pure but in remake shes her slum self, pretty flirty and fun and overall a more intriguing character. Easily the best part of Remake IMO. Tifa was pretty fine too and so was Cloud. Barret and Seph my opinions of were a little lower but for the former well see once Dyne gets involved

Like most of her haters havent played remake yet that should tell you something

Yes. The remake got so so so so much right, Tifa isnt terrible anymore (at least yet, admittedly its disk two where she mostly became dog shit, so well see) Barret was made perfect, Jessie and Wedge were given amazing characterization, but by far the best thing VII Remake did was legit remake the characters of Cloud and Aeris to what they are supposed to be, and not these one note nothing going on tree blocks they were in the compilation. It was so amazing to see them brought to life once again.
