NOBODY should be offended by that statement. They do not belong. There is a reason Seph is one of the probably 40 most known gaming characters, and no other FF villain is cracking a top 1,000 list, There are no Darth Vaders in this series, they dont belong on that type of level, and they should drop everytime before it is winning time. Playable characters should be setting this table, and thats it.

....I never did go the "Justice for Aeris" route but probably for the best, nobody wants to hear a rerun

(also because how I feel about Kefka's quest is also tearing my soul apart!)

MWC is exactly why even though I had Aeris and Jessie as my second and third characters after Kefka, I would never main them. His blind rage at anything that dares threaten his precious FF7 turned me away from all FF7 characters regardless of how much I might like them personally.

I actually do like Agrias, so I'd love to see her and Kefka in the finals. If it comes down to Aeris and Agrias, I'm Agrias all the way. Anything to see FF7 lose, all because of how annoying MWC is about all of this.

Alright I'll take another last stab at this and then I'll leave it alone. I've just never not had a final day H1 deal in place before and I'm really hoping someone might be interested/help me out here.

I am now seeking an Hour 1 trade with a Kefka saver, for Aerith.

If Kefka's your fav, you have a strong preference for a Kefka/Aerith finals and you don't get into Day 98 in the first like, 20 seconds of the round going up, I'm your man. You're likely only going to get one save and it might as well be a trade with me!

I've crunched the numbers in a SUPERIOR MANNER to the bot, and my analysis shows Kefka being in the Day 98 driver's seat, having the most likely track to 25 saves, possibly even within H1 itself; whereas Aerith's support is lighter, flakier, and crispier.

Every extra save counts; so in our deal, you would save Aerith, I'll save Kefka H1 and - if H2 exists and lasts at least 8 seconds - Aerith H2. If Aerith is already safe at the end of H1 I won't save anyone H2. If the round is over before 8 seconds of H2 happen, them are the breaks (why 8 seconds? well, I am confident I can get in within 7 +/- 1 second of the round going up, but I guess we'll see!)

...I'm also still open to trading with an Agrias saver but I'm not seeing that in the cards. Really would just like an H1 deal with someone, who wouldn't want to pair up with the prolific MartinFF7!

if MWC could take it to heart that he pushes people away from saving the same characters as him and back off a bit I'd happily pick up a Kefka/Aerith trade. As it is being on the same side as him is too high stress to be worth it

Other Aerith savers have played a good game and deserve the best

Just save your favourite final fantasy characters. Nothing and no one else matters.

I just can't envision myself not saving a character I want to save because another user is saving them. There are users I'm not fans of and we've ended up on the same project, that's life. Whether it's spite or guilt by association that drives people in similar situations apart from their favs, I'm going to do my own thing and chart my own path here.

goats are so common in these contests and every time people try to put lipstick on 'em pretending like they're anything but a goat. Then when they get trounced in the finals, to no one's surprise, you get asinine comments like "that was closer than I expected at least"..."oh yeah, they put up quite a fight"..."let's pretend like we didn't drag a goat to the finals so my main's victory feels more legitimate to me"....

as did Eddv that year put Agrias in his top 10 and Aeris in his bottom 10 (Agrias #2 in Eddv's Top 15 this year)

Oh, Eddv's dumpster-rankings of FF7 characters are well-established, and I definitely remembered Inviso hating Aerith. Which actually reminds me...(storytime)

There were two rounds earlier in this contest, I want to say around when the rule changed to 4 saves, where Aerith was still alive, late. One time I threw out an NR but she was saved before I posted it. The other time she was in the bottom 3 and I wasn't NRing, I had basically given up on her, a second round of scraping by, what's the point, post-lawyering comeback run dream is over... and Inviso saved her.

And I remembered how much Inviso disliked her from XXI! Part of me wanted to hope maybe opinions had changed, but I think more realistically he disliked the other two charcters still alive even more, lol.

I think tennisboy also did a late save there so maybe he saves her if Inviso didn't, but maybe she's eliminated if Inviso doesn't do that save. Then what happens.... MI goes to Locke? Maybe Locke outlasts Kefka? what an absolute nightmare scenario.

No, everything worked out pretty well.

....if I could wake up to a Kefka fan taking my offer at post #321 that would work out pretty well too!

I dont really think anyone was doubting these two. They probably are the most transparent users who participate in this when it comes to FF taste.

Didnt know MWC felt all the villains who werent Sephiroth were unworthy of being in a final ever. Sephiroth is ok, but I like a decent amount of FF villains more than him.

IIRC, MWC once said that if you're saving someone in other games than FF7, then it is like you hate Final Fantasy.

Or something to that effect.
