Also, gotta say, among the 2nd and 3rd batches of cards? Zero dragons.

The first batch of cards being 57% dragons made me think there was going to be a substantial dragon theme in this mini-set, with lots of support, but...now that's looking unlikely.

We do know that all four legendaries are dragons, though, and that at least one of them (Kasakusan) rewards you for putting only dragons in your deck, so maybe that makes people run dragons? But...I could just as easily imagine people making decks full of spells in order to run Kazakusan.

Yeah I think this board is kinda overrating Furious Howl, the curve for Face Hunter is generally too high early game for you to dump your hand and play it barring when you have a bunch of one mana spells (I guess you can do a Drekthar deck and it makes your low curve stronger, but eh Barak and Rhino are too good)

In Quest Hunter though? Card is fine since I generally have a bunch of cheap spells that I need to draw

Yeah, thinking of it as a version of Voracious Reader that doesn't come with a 1/3 body and doesn't threaten to proc more than once if not killed does put things into perspective.

Cause like...I can't think of any hunter deck currently running Voracious Reader, even in various iterations of wild quest hunter (where running out of cards in hand is a concern).

I still think there's going to be decks that want Furious Howl. It's probably better than voracious reader. But...not that much better.

I love D1 of a new set when I can play a bad deck and still do well with it

I've been playing the new mini-set for about an hour so far and I'm ready for Kazakusan to be deleted from the game already.

It was a fun joke Blizzard but can we see the real mini-set now?

I started a match as I was typing this and looked over to see a Druid with 9 mana on turn 4. Holy shit this game sucks right now.

Is Kazakusan a problem in general, or just in Druid? Because if it's just Druid that makes the potential nerf a lot more interesting.

My non-tilted brain says it's probably too early to see if it's actually a problem but yeah Druid is the main issue.

My current tilted brain does not understand why I play a game that consistently makes me angry. For those curious to Kazakusan counters just try playing it a few times and you'll queue into nothing but counters. I was playing Kibler's dragon priest list and lost to a Deathrattle Rogue who triggered Lilian's deathrattle about 5 times during a match.

I think I really need to stop playing this game with the next rotation and resist the urge to install it again in the future. I don't have the mental fortitude to be able to shake off losses and they make me so mad.

My brain knows that the best decks in the game barely have a 60% winrate so you're going to lose every 4 games out of 10. My brain knows that those losses are basically out of your control and I still get mad! Hearthstone is the one competitive game where losses shouldn't make you mad because they're usually out of your control but it's the game that causes me the most anger.

I really wish I could shrug off those matches because I'm not an angry person or a short tempered person in literally ANYTHING else in my life. This most recent match was a CASUAL match and I still wanted to punch something after losing.

How do you guys shake off losses?

What makes Kazakustan strong is more Druid being able to consistently tutor and ramp for it than anything else.

Rotation will probably make it fine, and aggro (other druids/trogg decks in particular) do pretty well against it.

Yeah I think lightning bloom rotating will hurt a good amount of decks.

My first attempt at this one had more neutrals and lady prestor but that was just real slow and bad.

I'm pretty sure the deck is "better" if you just run Kazakus and none of the other dragons (or at least make him the high end for coldtooth), but (1) that's more boring for me to play and (2) somehow all my dust disappeared a few weeks ago so can't craft the other epics I'm missing anyway.

The dragons hold off aggro well enough and Kazakus finishes them off. Also I've been debating dropping Ysera for Scale, but then I'll win a game off of Dream or Nightmare or Awakens and reconsider. But if I were going to make another change that would be the first one.

I was trying to figure out what to play to target ramp druid. Messed around with aggro taunt druid, y'know, that deck I crafted a while back that went like 1-6. Went like...2-4, with one of the losses being to ramp druid. I also faced two priests with the new duskbreaker.

The deck is like...allergic to board clears, so if ramp druid puts in the spell that fills their board with 2/1 rushes (scale of onyxia) turns out they are not a free win. And priest with the new duskbreaker destroys aggro druid of course.

So........I switched to a deck which is less scared of board clears (shadow priest), and I'm on like a 10 game winning streak. Facing the mirror now, and they went first with a better start, so I'm about to lose that streak, but yeah, deck is super well positioned against popular decks generally right now.

Okay, so I saw even druid pop up on one of Neon13's reports, and was like "LOL, no way that is remotely good".

Lol he got Mama Bear from his 8 drop Dragon. I probably would have just conceded at that point because you were not coming back from that.

You and I both need better methods for getting over losses because like I said in my last post playing a "good deck" just means that you only lose 4 games out of 10 instead of 5 out of 10.

We've both hit Legend so we've basically already "beat" Hearthstone. We should stop taking it so seriously until they add an actual tournament mode or some way to queue up multiple decks and play best 2 out of 3 with an opponent or something.

Yeah I've resorted to just playing Aggro or Burn/OTK decks. Either I draw good stuff and kill you by turn 6-8 or you heal up and I lose.

But is this actually fun or just a mindless way to pass the time? Do we actually enjoy Hearthstone anymore?

I regularly take month breaks and only stick around for a while if I can cobble together a deck I really enjoy playing with my limited resources.

And so I've come back down to earth A LITTLE, mostly because I had to learn the shaman match-up and some bad draws, but it's still clobbering overall. On Ulti's observation I dropped Ysera and Magescribe, and added Hothead 2 and (for me) Scale to go on the 5-0 run this morning.

Playing against streamers is fun. I was in a BG game with Kripp once too. I had his stream up and there was a moment of realization that our lobby looked exactly the same. Very odd feeling

I dunno if I feel like going for legend, meta isnt bad but the decks just feel so different, its either an anti aggro or a greedy deck that punishes that strategy

BGs seems a bit more fun now, buddy mechanic means the best way to go is probably Warrior/Shineese curve and get some 1 drops before double leveling turn 5 and get either a avenge dude or a build around unit? 1s seem pretty good and 2s pretty weak

I knew that reborn snake was going to be bad news the moment I saw it. Personally, I think poison is terrible in general.

I beat a similar deck using Ping Mage! I had a pretty good run from D5 to D2 using Ping Mage but I hit a wall so decided to stop for the night.

You can usually pressure Kazakusan decks enough that by the time they start getting their treasures ready you can Mordresh them down.

I lost to a few Control Warriors and Hunters but I think they were winnable games and I misplayed a few times.

I think poison makes sense because you need a way to comeback against big stats or low level strats (Otherwise Lich Baz just crushes every game) but reborn poison is kinda silly.
