Wildfire is a card I was very interested in playing with when it debuted -- even crafted the legendary -- and the hero power deck just hasn't been all that great.

Wildfire not working with the mage hero was super dumb and I'm glad they fixed it

Update on Hero Power Mage: It still fucking sucks

Update on Celestial Druid: It's still the stupidest thing in the game

BGs changes aren't large enough to warrant a full breakdown, so I'll just say that in general they are pretty much all positive, especially the armor tier changes and the sneed nerf. Tamsin still looks absolutely awful. Scabbs and Hooktusk still need nerfed, and there are still quite a few bottom tier heroes that need help, but overall yeah this is a step in the right direction patch wise.

Hero power mage seemed like garbage.

But I messed around with big spell mage and that seemed ok. Specifically Arcane Overflow on 5 (kill something, make a 5/5ish size minion) into Grey Sage Parrot on 6 to copy Arcane Overflow is some Paladin level midrange pile of stats BS.

Just killed someone with Mozaki Mage on turn 6.

It's banned in normal tournaments, so I think he just thought he queued it up by mistake when it was a ban

But Bunnyhoppor was the one who queued with Meastra/Shaman, right? Gaby didn't queue into the 'wrong' class so I'm not understanding why he would concede either way. Unless I'm just entirely misunderstanding what's going on, which is possible.

He probably thought it was a misclick or something and they were going to play another game with the correct decks.

Just played a game of OTK Shaman where I lost because Mutanus ate my Bolner

BUT the only reason that the Rogue played Mutanus is because I ended my turn with Mutanus and he got a copy with Vanessa. Hearthstone has a lot of dumb RNG but I think an actual pro player would have been playing around Vanessa copying Mutanus and eating Bolner. It's easy to feel like Hearthstone is on auto-pilot for a lot of matches, especially after playing for 5 years, so these moments kinda feel nice to know that there are still plenty of small decisions that can cost you a match.

Also I lost the previous game because I ran out of time doing the Bolner OTK which is another loss I could have prevented (but also fix the fucking animations Blizzard).

Follow up to the Gaby situation. He thought it was a banned class and opponent misclicked. They both agreed to just play another game.

I've been playing a lot more legend this month than usual because I hit it so fast and I've noticed a weird kind of BM where the other player just hovers over your portrait the entire game. Has anyone else noticed this lately?

Also does anyone else actually still play this game besides me?

Switch to Fel Demon Hunter and lose to Quest Rogue as a slap in the face.

So...according to the latest VS report, thief rogue is now the best deck in the game at high legend.

Words I did not expect to write going into 2022.

I wonder what that means for the competitive scene since Maestra is generally banned there

Thief Rogue without Maestra seems rough because you don't get any Gnoll discounts and you need to generate an activator to play the 3/3 guy.

Just stopping by to say how sick I am of playing against Libram Paladin. I feel like I've been dealing with this deck for 2 years and I'm just ready for it to be GONE.

I am playing Quest Rogue actually but it seems like some of them are starting to tech in stuff to deal with stealth combos.

I can only kill so many 8/8 divine shield taunt fuckers before my Smite/Edwin combo just doesn't work anymore.

Maybe I'll try Quest Priest just to ruin them too.

I am the clear winner of this expansion. I've never blindly gone all in in a deck at the beginning of an expansion and had it work out before

It's crazy how much more fun I have dicking around in Legend versus Diamond. I know it's all a mindset but I'm having a miserable time in Diamond 10 right now and I actually had fun playing at legend last month.

It felt like all I was playing against yesterday was Libram Paladin and it was driving me crazy. So the deck I'm running into all day today is Pirate Warrior and I switch to Libram Paladin myself to counter. So of COURSE the very first game as Libram Paladin is against a Quest Rogue that completely demolishes me.

Trying to actually counter the ladder and then getting screwed is so insanely frustrating. And yes I know I'm a hypocrite for playing Libram Paladin after complaining about it yesterday but that's what you have to do with this damn game.

Deck that's driving me crazy today: Poison Rogue

Turns out giving a class 3 turns in a row of invincibility and the ability to draw your entire deck by turn 9 is pretty good. Who could have guessed?

Ended on a fantastic Reno game where I zapped a Gemsplitter and rolled everyone.

Well it's only pseudo invincibility (I mean cloak is too technically) but Scabbs mass vanishing everything is basically a lockout for anything except Mozaki mage. Also playing a hero card unfreezes you so you get to attack immediately too if you were frozen by Shaman.

I just posted a big rant about the deck but ended up deleting it because it's all been said already. There's lots of annoying stuff in Hearthstone and maybe that's just an unavoidable thing with every card game. I think I really need to stop and decide if I'm actually having fun with Hearthstone or if it's just a way to pass the time. I tend to get more frustrated at my opponent's decks instead of actually enjoying the decks I'm playing myself.

I stopped playing from Witchwood (April 2018) to Demon Hunter (April 2020) and I truly did not miss the game so why did I end up coming back?

Maybe I should go back to fighting games with my free time.

Look at how long it took just to get Garrote and Octobot nerfed, and those nerfs didnt even do anything.

I dunno about "didn't even do anything". Garotte Rogue got deleted by those nerfs.

I thought that got fixed?

Specifically, Talented Arcanist used to work with every bleed if you drew a bunch in a row, even though it's only supposed to boost the spell damage of the "next spell". They fixed that bug.

(BTW its poison rogue that is just better in every way, and its problematic enough that Scabbs and Cloak should probably be nerfed)

So I've been watching Nohandsgamer play belly druid at top 5 legend to pretty good success. Seems to be at least even with the rogue decks at the moment. I've been messing around with a budget version myself (replacing abominable lieutennants with runnaway blackwings--not sure I believe in abominable lieutennant enough just yet to actually craft it).

NHG usually plays VS lists, its the same as their Ramp Druid but you cut Mutanus for Guess the Weight

I mean, the going rule is to never trust youtube videos, because it's standard practice to just edit out all the losses and then have a thumbnail bragging about 100% winrate.

I was watching this on twitch, though, and not just on nohands' stream (a few other high legend people were also streaming the deck, and I saw a few other streamers queueing into the deck), so it seems to be a real thing.

The only person I watch on Youtube that actually plays Hearthstone at this point is kibler, and he's got the mostly useless for how he plays w/l count displayed above his decklist, but does anyone actually do the 100% winrate shtick outside of it being a joke/meme?

People did it serious around like 2017/2018 era. Maybe it's not a thing anymore.
