That's usually what I assume. That, or they're about to pick somebody up/just dropped somebody off. The rabid anti-maskers seem to struggle with understanding that most people aren't so bothered by wearing masks as to take them off the second an opportunity presents itself.

Cars are not airtight. Air that's potentially contaminated by the virus gets into the car.

It works both ways.

If they are driving around the corner or somewhere close, they might just leave it on. I personally usually dont. But they can if they want to Its fine as it hurts no one

The types of masks 99% of people use are really just geared for the one way. And the usage is inspired by how the masks have generally been used: ie, the spreader wearing them to protect others.

I don't want to fiddle with my mask unless there's a place where I get dispose of it/wash it (depending on the mask type) and wash my hands, so I usually wear it while in transit.

I sometimes have my mask on in the car because I'm a bit of a scatter brain and I sometimes forget, or I accidentally drop it, if its in my hand and I'm bringing stuff into the car.

I can't stand masks but I wear the when going into stores etc since it's mandatory again (even though I have the vaccine). I don't wear them outside or in my car though.

That being said, they had people get the virus from a football field away supposedly, outside, due to the wind etc. So yes, in theory you could both give or get the virus while in your car alone, especially if your windows are down (I imagine if they are up your pretty safe).

There isn't really such a thing as being too careful if it doesn't bother you to do so. I wish I didn't notice I had a mask on after awhile, actually it gets harder and harder the longer I wear one.

Yeah, I don't like wearing them either. Especially since it's been so hot and getting hotter every year.

Really stupid topic.
- It's completely harmless.
- As someone mentioned, after a while you don't really think about the mask.
- It's a low profile clothing item. This topic and that video are making it out like people are driving while wearing a snorkeling mask or full scuba gear.
- Not everyone feels they have to take it off after entering the car and then put it back on when they leave. In winter do you take your coat and hat off each time you enter the car?
- Driving is not eating or drinking. It's something that can be done with a mask on.
- It's completely harmless. (Oh wait I said that)

Just to add onto what everyone else has said...

I've seen plenty of people wear masks in their car when they are about to interact with people. For example, when someone uses curbside pickup or picks up food at a drive-thru.

Because helly is braindead. Also, I'm sure he's referring to me thinking masks are evil when I wear them all the time. I still take them off whenever I'm out of a store or whatever though

I need to wear glasses all the time, believe me, Im aware of that mask every second and I take it off as soon as I get in the car. I heard that if you pinch the wire around your nose it wont fog up your glasses but I have a small nose so it doesnt work.
