sony always wins but halo was mad huge in the 2000s. halo 2 may be the single most revolutionary online game of all time. feels like the franchise fell off after reach though; you know, when bungie left. i mean yeah it was still huge but idk, i never really heard people talking about it; people would just talk about call of duty lol

I love Halo CE, but 2 improved on some things, and that's what did it for me.

Still voted Halo CE though because the LAN parties were something else.

I still play Halo CE on the PC. It's my favorite game of all time. Surprisingly there's still a small community that plays online.. it's dwindling every year but if you get on the right server it's so much fun.

halo 3 game battles was definitely a highlight in my gaming career. easily put more hours into that game than any other game

halo 2 was fun as well what with the sword glitch, rocket cancel, superbounces, modded levels, BxR, doubleshot, etc, but competitively halo 3 was the pinnacle for me

halo 3 had the best story, but halo 2 is the game i sunk the most time into. that multiplayer consumed a lot of time. never got much into halo 3's multiplayer since they added group chat and suddenly lobbies were silent except for the random music playing asshole.

Reach for me. Liked creating my own character and liked being on a team of other spartans. Loved the ending too

Some of my best memories did come from 3 in multiplayer. Like taking the lead back and forth with a purple alien dude named Dr. Phil. I overcame him for the lead with like 5 seconds left in the match.

Or when the game seemed to have fucked up by putting me and my friend (couch co-op) on opposite teams but for whatever reason i still spawned next to him. I told him to check what team I was on he said "oh shit" but it was already too late I had a shotgun to his head point blank range. He was pissed at me lmao

Or the time my friend got team killed by a guy who wanted his sniper rifle. So we got into a fight amoung ourselves killing each other and still beat the other team

Halo 2 will forever be my favorite just because of the memories. I lived in the dorms in college and we'd have up to 4 xboxes hooked up almost every night. We'd get up to 16 people play, 8v8 or 4 teams of 4, most nights and seldom less than 8. Walking into the other rooms or people coming into ours and everyone talking about the match we just played was great. Then we'd play more and talk more. Then keeping in touch by playing together online over summer break.
Halo 3 was fun, but it just wasn't the same when far fewer people had 360s and we couldn't get the big games going.
Halo 4 I barely played because I was out of college by then and Call of Duty had become the series those friends played online instead

Yeah, I've got it. I prefer the older style of having servers to join. I don't like matchmaking. I play it occasionally, but the original is still what I prefer.

Halo 3 is the greatest online competitive multiplayer game I've played of all time. Reach was pretty damn good too, however the maps just being that much better in 3 makes 3 the clear winner.

it's one of my most played games. definitely the most i played on the 360. surprised 2 isn't running away with the poll tho.

odst was damn fun with firefight but rest of the game was rather lacking campaign wise but they just reused halo 3s multiplayer which was always good. reach i did like mostly but could tell the series was changing for the worse and then bungie ended up leaving and series has basically been dead since.
