So I realized my initial comment might not be accurate anymore as I know the price of cars has gone up. But I can't see any reason to spend 25k on a used care when you can get a new car for less.

I'd rather spend that much on a basically new Prius or Camry

25k on a 11 year old car? Nope.

I also found a bunch for 10-15k in like 4 seconds

A mint condition Maybach or Rolls Royce, maybe. (even then 25K is too much)

A Lexus is just a Toyota with some shiny QoL features.

Yea, I looked them up, but they have way higher mileage on them (and probably more wear) but I dunno, might just get one at a cheaper price point but with more mileage

What kind of signal are you trying to communicate to others with your car choice

I did, but it was a much better deal than that. I picked up a 2017 Mercedes c300 w/36,000 miles for just over $26,000. Worth every penny. I love that car.

I don't even know what that means. No 12y/o car is worth 25k used. That is just absurd. Might not even get it paid off before it starts crapping out on you.

This is where I'm at right now with my 2013 car. Many of the options that were still expensive upgrades, often found only in the top tier versions of a car, can now be found as standard equipment in the middle or even lower tier versions. All of these little QOL upgrades are having me looking for a new car.

I would not. I don't even need a luxury car. For me, the purpose of a car is transportation, so I only care if it's reliable and economical. I can use the rest of the money for other important things.

The maintenance really isn't bad as long as you stay away from the dealership. I just brought mine in for it's yearly, it came to $130.43. The dealership would've charged $900+. That's where everyone gets the inflated idea that the maintenance is expensive.

I mean I can understand in the sense that having the right "feel" for your car is important (One reason I have a hard time with Honda and Toyota, the compact to mid-sized cars just feel too sensitive). That said I would only pay like $2K - $3K up-charge at most to get the type of car I want, not $10K.

A used truck for 20k would be great, but for a car it really depends on what kind of condition that thing is in. Especially at 11 years old. Even with low mileage who knows what that thing has been through.

low mileage isn't even inherently a good thing. My first car was 10 years old and had about 30k miles on it. Had to get so much work done on it because sitting long periods of time without running just isn't good.

A. I'm looking for a 'Luxury' Car, so Kia doesn't have that kinda Brand...not saying they suck (some look pretty nice)
B. Also I'm a Lexus guy (my 1st 'Luxury' Car was a Lexus ES back in the day) so I'm kinda privy to the Brand.

Oh I'm not much of a Car guy (at least on the Mechanics side of things) but I've heard/seen many ppl say the Mileage on a Car is the main reason many Parts may need replacements (such as Suspension, Brakes, etc)

In my experience, lease end vehicles are the perfect used car to buy.

Only a couple years old, have somewhat low millage, most of the factory defects have been fixed by then, and they are required to have regularly scheduled maintenance. Not to mention dealerships are usually willing to sell them relatively cheap since they have an abundance of them taking up space in their lots.

It is a win-win all around.

lf you can't afford a luxury car, don't buy one. Luxury cars are typically more expensive to maintain, more likely to get stolen, and draw more attention to you.

^Yea, I've seen a few for like $6000-$7000 (2007) but with like over 200k on them...I guess I gotta see/test them in person to get a feel on whatever repairs they might need (both are at Dealerships)

Sigh, I never said that, don't put words in my mouth...I just said I was looking for a 'Luxury' Car...mainly b/c I might wanna work as a Black Car or for Uber Black (which need one of those on most occasions) but the Model might be too old

I know this 1st hand...again my 1st Luxury Car (not my 1st Car ever mind you) was a Lexus (not sure if Acuras count) and I had to replace an Alternator in it...costs way more to do so than in a US Branded Car
And I don't think anyone is interested in Stealing a 10-15 Year Old Car (and Lexus has some of the best Anti-Theft Protection)
