If you want to let fear keep you from living your life in safety and comfort, I guess that's your prerogative, but you should know that that's a really dumb decision based on all available risk data.

Ive been living my life without fear and its been great tyvm. No complications whatsoever. Its seems like youre the one living in fear and worry about what everyone else is doing even though youve been vaccinated. Life is too short to be constantly obsessing over what other people are doing. Freedom over fear is my motto.

I've never been a line cook. You're still wrong about how commercial grade corned beef is sold. It's no longer presalted. It's just a brisket you brine yourself.

Doctors once prescribed thalidomide for morning sickness. We all know how well that worked out.

I have no issue with people who choose to get this vaccine and I have no issue with those that choose not to. I do have an issue with forcing it in others.

HIV: 36.3 million deaths since June 1981 (40.2 years)
Covid: 4.3 million deaths since November 2019 (1.8 years)

If I'm remembering properly how division works, I believe that works out to roughly 0.9 million deaths per year for HIV and 2.4 million for Covid.

Man, if only I'd considered what I was saying before I said it. Then I could have avoided this embarrassing position of having readily available statistics and basic math prove me completely right. What a bummer.

That's a lot of erroneous math. Covid won't get near AIDS death toll and the AIDS death toll in the 80s was much higher than in recent years. But still, to act like covid is the worst health crisis in a century is still just wrong.

Even if continued at the current death rate (it won't) it would take more than a decade to reach 36 mil. If this stuff is still going on a decade from now, the economic toll will be worse than covid itself

I'm laughing that you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. The first two years outpaced the peak of HIV-related deaths, and that was with extreme intervention measures, where work and travel was severely impacted.

Without rapid development of highly safe and effective vaccines, it would have progressed to be even worse.

You realize like only 15 percent have been vaccinated globally (and many of those have been only within the last few months). Don't think it's had time to have that much effect yet. Also, doesn't matter if it surpassed the peak. It won't even come close to how many HIV killed. It likely won't even approach 10 mil. It's not only the peak that matters. HIV killed for decades and still does. It's ridiculous to say covid is worse. Recency bias applies here I think
