I'm laughing that you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. The first two years outpaced the peak of HIV-related deaths, and that was with extreme intervention measures, where work and travel was severely impacted.

Without rapid development of highly safe and effective vaccines, it would have progressed to be even worse.
You realize like only 15 percent have been vaccinated globally (and many of those have been only within the last few months). Don't think it's had time to have that much effect yet. Also, doesn't matter if it surpassed the peak. It won't even come close to how many HIV killed. It likely won't even approach 10 mil. It's not only the peak that matters. HIV killed for decades and still does. It's ridiculous to say covid is worse. Recency bias applies here I think
