Republicans favourite polling firm from Rasmussen show that more than 60% of Democrats want people to show PROOF of VACCINATION before they can enter indoor spaces while only 29% of Republicans feel the same as well as 36% of independents!!

It shows 44% of adults were in favour of such measure to go into indoor spaces such as gyms, restaurants and theatres.

It comes just as NYC became the first in the US to mandate people show proof of vaccination before entering indoor public places after outgoing Mayor, Bill de Blasio mandated the order who said it was important to make clear that people who are vaccinated get the benefit in all sorts of ways and to live a better life while those unvaccinated cannot put the people at risk

It was immediately slammed by Republicans in several red states who are fighting the so called "vaccine passports" as Joe Biden and his administration has been adamant not to implement the vaccine passport

De Blasio did not follow suit of other urban areas such as Los Angeles and Washington DC to reimpose masks for indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status

Black Americans are split on proof of vaccination with 50/50 while 43% of whites want the requirement and 43% of other racial minorities

A Far cry from up north in Canada where 74% of canadians say vaccines should be mandatory and 58% support passports while 20% oppose as the rest are unsure

It's requiring you to show evidence that you are qualified to access that service. That's fundamentally identical to asking for proof of vaccination before letting you in.

None of my ids show my private health information.

a vaccination record isn't private health information

moreover, the same argument could be used for: your id shows your private residence, your birthday, your height, weight, eye color, ect.

it shows far more personal private information than a card that says you have been vaccinated for x.

and then the argument falls apart because all of that information, including your vaccination records, are generally considered public information simply by virtue of public records that anyone and everyone is allowed to access.

but all that is besides the point. your argument is that having to show a vaccination record is allowing a totalarian state to happen, despite the fact that you carry around, and have seemingly no issue with showing, a literal identification card. all the government needs is a picture of you and they have records of everywhere you have ever lived, every vehicle you've ever had, every loan you've might've had, every credit and debit card, every bank, ect, you have ever had.

if the government wanted to switch to a military/totalian state, there's absolutely nothing stopping them from doing so, and in fact they've already attempted it on january 6th, 2021.

Vaccine passport is basically the bare minimum that should be done.

When the next pandemic hits, if it's worse than covid and resistant to vaccines (likely), we will be in the situation where really powerful enforcement measures are necessary to curb the spread. Restricted travel, mandatory quarantines, etc. Not this pussy shit the US has been doing for a year and a half.

Countries that establish precedent on how to handle a pandemic now, including establishing rules and limitations on governmental powers, will do way better than those that are just ignoring it.

Your DoB and address are significantly easier to abuse than your vaccination status. Concerns about "private health information" really only apply to the sorts of things that might cause damages or embarrassment if they were leaked. HIPAA applies uniformly because it's a lot more practical to just apply regulations to all health information instead of trying to specify all kinds of exceptions, but in practice, disclosing your vaccination status is only going to cause you problems if you're not vaccinated. That's not something you'll be doing to get into any place that requires proof of vaccination (since there's very little point in walking up to a store and saying "you won't let me in"), so I think it's pretty safe to consider that point moot.

If memory serves, he'd done a corned beef pizza for St Patrick's day. It did actually sound good, and his approach to it makes sense (as does using a brisket for it), but his insistence that he wasn't taking considerable liberties with the concept of "corned beef" was very much classic Sunny.
