I'm confused but I see what soma is saying. I leaned towards they as it's gender neutral and there does seem to be some ambiguity to the story, but I genuinely don't know how much any of what's being said is true, or still current. But it is true that she has she/her pronouns in her bio and I think the point here is what does the person asked to be called, not what do you think their gender is.

im not gonna link to her twitter bio but you can go find it, and it has she/her written there. that pretty much settles it for me. im not going to read/watch any of the other chris-chan stuff because its awful.

I don't know if all trans people agree on it but I have no perspective to offer on it personally so I'd defer to people here who actually are trans

well the thing is that trans people are just people. they don't all agree on anything. some of them are bad and some of them are nice. if you generally think its good to treat people with respect even if they're bad, then you should use her pronouns.

if you thought that that bad people should be treated like shit and demeaned even when it serves no rehabilitative purpose, then i would have no way of convincing you otherwise

No I absolutely agree, there's no reason to misgender out of direct spite. I think some of it may be well-meant but misguided attempts not to lump her "good" trans people. But that's probably just concern trolling coming from cis people, and it's a bad precedent to start trying to draw lines on someone else's gender identity.

I hope that doesn't come across as offensive, I'm happy to use she/her and think that people aren't proving much of a point continuing to press against it.

Caitlyn Jenner's probably one of the most egregious examples of this: There are many people that claim to be pro-trans and whatnot, but will misgender Jenner (... misjenner >.>) because she's a bad person. That's just not how acceptance works. If you treat correctly gendering people as a privilege that can be revoked if they misbehave badly enough, you never actually accepted them and are not at all pro-trans. Jenner can be both a woman and a quasi-sentient skidmark masquerading as a human.

It's the same vein as only using the N-word to describe particularly poorly-behaved black people. If you ever think that using somebody's race as a basis for insulting them is okay, whatever the context, you're racist. Similarly, if you ever think that misgendering somebody to insult them is okay, you're transphobic.

It's not really a joke. If they're so sexually maladjusted as to rape their dementia-addled mother, I fully expect that they'll try something with any women they can while in jail, and given their... limited physical prowess, I don't see that ending well. If they're identifying female at all, that's a solid reason to put them in a women's prison (since trans women in men's prisons have an extremely high likelihood of being assaulted in some capacity), but because of their established history of sexual deviancy, I see that also posing some issues.

To clarify, I'm not in any way trying to suggest that there's an appreciable number of dudes identifying as women to get into women's prisons for some easy sexytime. This is specifically a commentary on Chris Chan's behaviour, largely independent of their gender identity.

She is gonna be a problem regardless what sex facility she goes to. Those women aint gonna be any nicer to. And womens prison is rougher than mens prison. Not in my state but she would actually stand a fighting chance at my unit if she could keep her head down or pretend to be a straight cis male long enough to get to a particular dorm.

We actually have two dorms that tolerate lgbt and rapists. Grantes over half of each dorm are sex offenders.

The idea of sending a person like this to prison - whatever they've done - is really just fundamentally messed up. Isolate them from society, by all means, but this is somebody who needs extensive psychotherapy, not to be stuffed in a cage and forgotten about. Jail as a punishment is going to do nothing to change their behaviour.
