Jin might have been that in 3-5 (it's probably Lars in 6), but Kazuya was at least still very relevant then which is not true the other way around. This is a longer post than I intended. UF8 07/15/21 3:02:29 AM #74:	i think rhythm heaven wrestler could've been well-received if incineroar didn't fill the niche he could've had (wrestler would be slower and probably have more i-frames though which doesn't help) paper mario is still one of the ones i want most and it's a shame the fanbase is awful now and there are enough marios for it to disappoint people anyway (even if he'd play quite differently) that topic series a while back made me realise i want a metal slug rep but that's just me phoenix would probably honestly disappoint unless he played basically the same way as his umvc3 version but if he did he'd automatically be my top pick really (at least ultimate is roughly fast enough to justify making him play like that) still difficult to look past the likes of dante or hayabusa or alucard (even with other cv reps). shame they all got confirmed not there are also so many franchises under companies like bandai namco or capcom or sega or konami etc that could've had a slot that i honestly hope another crossover fighter comes to fruition in the future (whether as a new subseries in namco's x series or otherwise) <cite>UF8 posted [p:956098218] in Is there a... If it's first party people will consider it a waste. A portion of the fanbase is at the point where if it's not one of their personally beloved niche picks like Geno/Isaac/Shantae they will be unsatisfied, and of course many people will be unhappy if it is one of those. The big third party mascots would be divisive too. This is the last character and people have their own stake in this now, it's as if people don't even want to be surprised anymore! Of course it's not entirely the fanbase's fault, Smash Bros absolutely encourages all this ridiculous hype. Satisfying the most people would mean being a large third party character who is already on the radar of fans but different enough from the others that have been added and with a wide enough base that they're recognisable, so... yeah I dunno.
