They killed Danny Andrw Smith as he rode his tractor in a field near Westminster who was cutting grass when he was shot once in the back and died Both boys shot in his direction where one of them hit him They were charged as juveniles in Family Court and their names are not released and by South Carolina Law are too young to be kept at juvenile hall and were released to their parents A .22 caliber rifle was used to kill Smith and police will not say how the boys got the rifle or why they shot at him Smith's wife, Marilyn found him slumped over in the driver's seat of th tractor after it ran into the woods and into struck a tree His sister Vickie Wilbacks said "It's a very difficult time because we haven't gotten over losing our parents 3 days apart and now i've lost the only brother i have" She said her brother was "bush hogging" her parents proeprty when he was shot as they are devastated and heartbroken to lose a precious man who never harm anybody His neighbor suggested the shooting might have been an accident and that it was a shock to the community that this happened. However, the parents should be investigated for leaving the kids unsupervised and there are some serious questions when children are able to get their hands on a hunting rifle.
