Sballen's comments following the reversion have very much been trying to paint detractors as being a vocal minority, as he always does (remember when he applauded the <1% of users that managed to hang onto throwback mode until the bitter end, conveniently leaving out that he'd made it progressively harder to maintain it until you practically had to manually turn it on twice a day or lose it forever?). His apparent position is very much one of "this is what you guys want, you just don't like change." I fully expect it to come back with some of the key functional issues resolved, but no real changes to the aesthetics of it, given his flippant disregard for people not liking how it looks. --- This is my signature. It still looks like shit in classic mode, though, and they don't want to allow for a full throwback option the way they did in the past. To be honest, that's the worst part of this. More competent coders would probably just try to set it up so you can have different versions of the site design, so the older users (which is 98% of the site at this point) can keep what they're actually comfortable with, and you can just make your lame attempt to chase new users (which probably isn't going to work anyway) the default so new users will see it automatically. Best of both worlds means you won't have a massive uprising every time you want to introduce something new.
