I went to school with a ton of Asians (both Asians in the way most people think "Asian", but also Indians and Middle Easterners), I've dated multiple Indian girls (albeit one Sri Lankan and one by way of Guyana), and I know a bunch of Asian-American actors and celebs in general.

I'd be very interested to know exactly where they were polling and their actual methodology, because I could see the poll results mostly being BS if they deliberately or accidentally targeted areas where it was much more likely to produce the results they wanted to "prove" their point.

Technically, she apparently did, since she had to renounce it to play for Japan in the Olympics. (Japan forces people with dual-citizenship to choose one or the other by their 22nd birthday).

Not sure why I mentioned citizenship, though. Asian-American refers to ethnicity, right?

Like I'm a caucasian American living in Japan, but I wouldn't suddenly become Asian-American if I were to gain Japanese citizenship.

Bullshit. We literally just had an Asian-American run for president.

...and I looked at this so-called survey, which is apparently just propaganda from an Asian-American advocacy group, once again showing that Yahoo is a complete fucking clown show joke and the sooner it's killed off, the better the internet will be.

I assume they used highly deceptively-worded questions or just didn't conduct real polling because, again, we literally just had an Asian-American run for president (even if Andrew Yang was more of a goof than Jimmy Wayne Yang).

"Journalists"

The poll in question wasn't done by journalists, it was commissioned by an advocacy group. And from a cursory skim of the actual methodology brief they themselves provided, it looks like the polling group itself has a pretty clear agenda, rather than being one of the more unbiased sources of polls done by a "neutral" party.

And the result is being reported in a sensationalist way by a website that tends towards clickbait-y articles, as a PR piece pushed by the advocacy group itself... so I'm not sure the word "journalism" actually applies to a single facet of this story.
