lol at all the white dudes naming asian women (particularly those saying "my gf" or "my ex").

The number of asian girls I know personally who have been preyed upon or abused by white sex pests is staggering.

just because a white dude has or is dating an asian chick doesnt mean they have preyed upon or abused them.

there is a staggering difference between dating and abusing someone.

"Journalists"

The poll in question wasn't done by journalists, it was commissioned by an advocacy group. And from a cursory skim of the actual methodology brief they themselves provided, it looks like the polling group itself has a pretty clear agenda, rather than being one of the more unbiased sources of polls done by a "neutral" party.

And the result is being reported in a sensationalist way by a website that tends towards clickbait-y articles, as a PR piece pushed by the advocacy group itself... so I'm not sure the word "journalism" actually applies to a single facet of this story.

tbh, stories like these tend to demonstrate a lack of journalism. This is more content mill shit than actual journalism.

I mean, are they a certified journalist? If they are, then they're a journalist.

I'm not sure if that's a facetious remark or a joke, but there's no such thing as a "certified journalist." It's often been said that all you have to do to become an agent is to print out a business card and put the word "agent" under your name. You don't even have to do that to get into journalism.

You could start a blog or YT channel right now and call yourself a journalist. You'd probably have more credentials than a lot of journalists working for websites.

I honestly don't know who is and is not Asian-American. You could tell me that Vladimir Putin is Asian-American and I wouldn't know any different.

We're probably on the same page on most issues (and most people will agree on a great many things, although those things vary person-to-person), but it's the issues that we're not that you're going to remember. It's pretty much impossible for two people to not agree on a lot of things.

The people who write articles for Yahoo News? Probably not. Any schlub with a Lit or Liberal Arts degree can generally get that sort of job online.

But even if they were, in this case they're not the ones "sampling peoples opinions and making interrelations from that data" anyway. They're essentially just summarizing a PR statement being put out by someone else, while doing zero research (or, you know, actual "journalism") of their own.

It's about on-par with me saying I'm a accredited five-star chef, then getting McDonald's delivered, serving it to you on a plate, and telling you I made it and you're clearly the one at fault if you don't like it.

Except in this case, the McDonalds may also be made from tainted beef.
