This video made me angry.

No, they're not breaking fair use by not asking you.

No, they're not breaking fair use by using the content for purposes other than critiquing the content itself.

No, they're not showing that they know what they're doing is wrong by blurring out your face.

This man is an insane [deleted].

It's like at some point despite his loud, snorting protests, someone successfully explained to him that other people uploading his content and making fun of it is protected by fair use, and his cancer-riddled brain tissue immediately shut down and refused to believe that fair use could possibly be anything other than that.

No, them blurring out your face is not an admission of guilt. It's because 1) like you are saying, they didn't ask for permission and maybe you wouldn't want your face shown in this context. And more importantly, 2) the person in the video was irrelevant to the thing they were presenting as a design principle to the audience. The important bit was the part about how a player was drawn to the visualization of the game mechanic, not that that person was a fat NEET scammer who has no clue what he was doing.

God, I don't usually get wound up about DSP, but this was just infuriating to listen to.

Who actually watches his content? I remember him falling off a cliff when he got demonetized back in 2010 and instead put his videos on blip tv or some shit. Never heard from him again after that.

He got banned from blip for racist and antisemitic jokes, then moved back to YouTube where he got his Adsense account banned for encouraging people to click on ads, then at some point (I think after the Adsense thing) he started streaming on twitch until just recently when they revoked his partnership, so now hes back on YouTube streaming. I think thats about it, if I missed or have glossed over anything important the others will let you know.

The vast majority of his viewers, believe it or not, are his trolls. He really doesn't have a lot of genuine fans, and the ones he does have are (surprisingly) whales.

DSP doesn't actually want to increase his viewership because that would mean having to deal with more people. He is perfectly content with being watched by a couple hundred people while being kept afloat by half a dozen whales. But complaining about the lack of viewers gives the appearance that he's a small streamer (who makes 120 grand a year) who is being held down by bigger streamers, trolls, game companies, etc.

DSP has the weirdest relation with his "wife". He knows nothing about her interests and doesn't care to know. I dont even understand what the hell the point of his marriage is.

Right on cue his new whale sends him $100. GaryUK may as well just start having his cheques go to DSP.

It's not even a week since he was over the major hurdle of youtube finally paying him and things returning to a normal, and he's already pushing hard on the idea that he's super tight on money for the next several months as he builds up his Youtube attendance to be closer to his Twitch one (which won't happen).

Couldn't even have a cooldown of a week for the uber begging and guilt tripping his whales into giving him money (and an Xbox).

It's not even that different from the way he operates now. How many times has he outright stated that he used to make "fuck you" money on YouTube? He could have used that money to pay off his existing debts, but instead he wasted it on figurines, cars he barely drove, and his ill-fated move across the country, which may have been the dumbest thing he ever did (which is truly saying something when we're talking about DSP). While continuing to make good money, he amassed credit card debt and spent years paying for a property he no longer used. Yet despite all the terrible financial decisions he made, his fans are always expected to pay the bills. They are always expected to "step up" and fund his lifestyle, while the quality of his content--the one and only way he has ever given back his fans--dips lower and lower.

Only 7 people on stream including him, no mods.
