I can't help but wonder whst kind of life you are living if you need 400 dollars per day just to get by.

So either he is saving up a lot of money to live comfortably when everything goes tits up (which would be the smart thing to do), or he is spending it like crazy because of addictions, like gambling.

It really is baffling that he can just continue the "I need 400 dollars a day to live" lie without any pushback from regular doners. Even within a cult like his the amount is so outrageous there should be some accountability for how that money is spent.

It's gonna be interesting come June 23rd or whenever he says he gets paid by youtube (I still have no clue why he can't wait for a monthly payday after getting 12k+ in the last month plus his twitch payment) if he's actually going to lower the tips goal. My assumption is that he'll at the very least try to do a "well, it's almost the end of the month, we'll see in July"

He's not going to lower the tips goal. He's not hitting it every stream, but he's hitting it most of the time and bringing in enough money overall that it's clear the whales are willing to sustain this level of support. I think a number of his smaller supporters have started to realize just how much money he makes and as a result have stopped donating, but they make up such a tiny percentage of his income that they hardly matter. As long as the whales keep dropping thousands of dollars a month, DSP can continue to ask for $400 a day without providing any proof that the money is needed or being used properly.

Who knew YouTube would be such a goldmine for him?

I imagine it's the "pity factor" going on right now, since his whales feel sorry for him being removed from the partner program on Twitch. A lot of them probably feel a special "attachment" to DSP in some manner, even though they are nothing more than just money to him and he'd throw them under the bus in a moment's notice, especially once they stop giving him money. That's all this whole thing is to DSP, money and nothing more than money. He has no need to stop living his "lavish lifestyle" if people keep feeding it.

Like, that's all I'm getting from that tweet. That if I watch that particular stream archive I will notice him dying an unusually high amount of times and he wanted to get in front of that and explain it away before I saw it.

The member goal (sub goal basically) went up from 150 to 250 overnight without Phil adressing it. It was at 148/150 before increasing it.

But if you say "we will be releasing it in late 2021" then decide to push it to "mid 2022" how can you take that as anything but a delay? They had a release window and pushed the release window.

I don't know about other cows, but in DSP's case it's because he is lazy, hates playing video games, has chosen to focus on begging over gameplay, and has diminished mental and physical reflexes due to years of an extremely isolated and sedentary lifestyle. Beyond those reasons, there is no impetus to play well (other than his own ego, which in this case takes a backseat to his laziness). I doubt his whales would contribute more if he were better at games.

Someone told phil he should go back to the original tips goal so he could hit it more often.

Phil of course got very snarky and told him to complain to twitch or give him the money he lost after his partnership was removed so he could lower it.

During the vest streak he made over 35k and that money has evaporated. Calling out the 200 dollar tip goal per stream adds up to 120k per year, results in a ban.

Any surplus of money he has ever made will get memoryholed into oblivion so he can keep up the narrative that he is poor and needs money for bills.

This especially comes into play when he gets a huge tip on one stream, then continues to beg like crazy on the next stream, and it's the reason why he doesn't want anyone talking about money. Anyone with half a brain can figure out that he makes way too much money to be crying poor. If he were actually in as much financial trouble as he claims, he would have been forced to make actual lifestyle changes a long time ago. Instead, no matter how much money he makes, he continues to claim that he won't be able to pay his bills/mortgage/taxes. If someone gave him $100,000 tomorrow, he would still be begging hard every stream, and mention of the $100,000 would quickly become a banworthy offense.

Someone needs to do a compilation video of Phil's reactions to Miu in DRV3.
