I had multiple crashes during ME1, but 2 has been smooth outside of one hiccup during Legion's loyalty mission where I had to reload because enemies stopped appearing.

So the Archangel mission glitched and Garrus was T-posing behind Shepard while he was supposed to be on the ground injured.

I wish I had my capture card going for that.

I always had Shep and Garrus as super bros just broing out, but maybe this time they need to be something more.

Well shit. Just learned on the Xbox version that if you turn the console off, the game still considers that running and kept the timer going so my 2 hours in is now 25 hours in.

Weirdly didn't do that for ME1.

Would just test myself but I'm hitting the hay, can you go with no guns? Thi king about doing Biotic Charge/Flare/Nova and nothing else. Worst case I can bust out the lightest long range pistol for those section where enemies are somewhere you can't actually get to.

Btw, it's kinda amazing how much tougher ME2 is than 1. I've actually managed to die a couple times!

I died quite a few times in this ME2 run. Even in Normal difficulty, enemies can shred through your shields if you patter around all overconfident (which I do all the time). I may have died more in ME2 Normal than I did in ME1 Insanity.

The thing with ME2 is that once your shields drop your actual health is an absolute joke. Even as a soldier you should be in full panic mode the second the alarms start ringing because you may very well be fucked.

I feel like this is true more for ME3 than ME2. In ME2 your health can still regenerate. In ME3 it doesn't. Though I only played ME2 on Veteran.

I think some of these trophies are glitched. I didn't get the "Paramour II" trophy despite getting with Liara in both games. Serves me right for choosing flirty dialogue options for every character and then dropping them at the end to stay faithful.

I guess canon Shep is thirstier than that.

Liara doesn't count for the paramour achievement in 2, both in the original release and in the legendary edition. Believe it had to do with the DLC nature of shadow broker originally.

Yes it's dumb.

Yeah, I remember Shadow Broker being more unique a decade ago, but at least it tried bringing some new stuff to the table. If nothing else, it had a lot of fun easter eggs, and I thought the broker's ship was a really cool looking area.

Arrival, conversely, was a complete chore that did nothing new apart from the 30 seconds Shepard got to control a basic mech. I also hated how it handled Shepard's most significant moral dilemma yet (the killing of 300,000 innocent people near that mass relay) - by not giving the player any voice in the decision and having Shepard just go through with it on autopilot. It's like a precursor to ME3's ending!

Random side note: this is a recurring problem with a lot of western series, I think, and I'm not entirely sure why. If I had to make a list of my 20 favorite boss fights I think close to all of them would come from eastern-developed games.

I actually really loved everything in ME1 from Virmire onward (especially since it was my final core world mission).

Just that everything before that is pretty dull (repetitive planets, same building interiors over and over).

I hate doing Kasumi's loyalty mission so early cause now she's just kinda there for the rest of the game, but god damn do I love the Locust.

It's so bizarre, yes

There's been so many games in the last, like, decade+ that I've really enjoyed but that have been slightly let down by poor boss fights. Assassin's Creed and Uncharted are the two I usually come back to with this (UC4's final boss is pretty good though).

That said, Mass Effect has good bosses but they're all in DLC. Nothing good in the main games, but there's two in LotSB that I like and the final boss of Citadel is my favourite (and idk if it's just me but, on Insanity, it was the game's biggest challenge that I can remember).

When I went full renegade through my entire second run, I got right up to the scene with Mordin. I fully intended to sabotage the cure and shoot him, but I chickened out of the renegade interrupt. I didn't have the heart.

Respect for Liara up.

ME3 Spoilers.
When Javik told her on the Monastery that his people would have wiped out a group like the Ardat Yakshi, she said "Why? They didn't like the competition?"

Don't think I'd ever seen that before because I never took them both on that mission before.

Liara ftw

I've seen people trashing her characterization because she completely changed between ME1/2, but it made sense given the context of Shepard's death and a two-year passage. It would have made less sense if she had remained a doe-eyed scholar beyond ME1.

I think Tali's felt more natural. The Quarian Pilgrimage definitely feels like an event designed to turn boys/girls into men/women, so her coming back more assertive is by design within her backstory.

Liara goes from naive introvert to criminal mastermind is kinda "huh?" but I assume that's explained more in a comic or sumfin'.

I mean their #1 complaint is after discovering the truth, Shepard still acts like theres room to negotiate with the guy or that he might have a valid point, and theres no option to have Shepard just reject his bullshit 100% with no reservations.
