I started up Dishonored 2 earlier. The game doesn't tell you the differences between Emily and Corvo, so I looked online and the latter is the more stealth-oriented of the two, so I went with Corvo to match my playstyle.

I've made it to The Veldt.

Judging by the walkthrough and my current rate of progress....there's no damn way I'm gonna finish this game by the end of the month.

There's a rule where if no one finishes then it carries over to the next month, right?

I started Dishonored 2 and I'm really not feeling it at all. Probably put it down for now and go to Yoku's Island Express.

Man, I'm further ahead in FF6 than the two people who made updates on this page finally stopped grinding and went to the Floating Continent and even I'm expecting to be unable to finish specifically this month.

Instead I chose to dump some time into Star Fox 64 and knock it out pretty quickly, so Star Fox 64 beaten

I have a few games that are already started on my currently playing list so I'll avoid nominating this month, though I'll continue to toss one thing out.

I've actually made decent progress in Final Fantasy VI. I'm pretty far into the World of Ruin. I'm hoping to beat it this month.

I've also beaten Star Fox 64 and Yoju's Island Express. It's always good to play through Star Fox, but I was pretty surprised with how much I enjoyed Yoku. I'm not a huge pinball fan, but the idea of a Metroidvania pinball game really got me invested. I have to agree with the complaint about the world map though. It's really not that helpful. I've got one trophy left to go before the platinum, but I may not even bother since the map doesn't show me which collectibles I've already gotten for it.

I'll nominate Dragon Quest, Super Mario Sunshine, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Well you could probably get through the back half of the game pretty quickly with no encounters + cheesing bosses if you don't care about doing sidequests.

I'm wanting to play through "properly" since this time I haven't ever before on past playthroughs.

I want to play properly as much as possible. I'm using a guide because this is an old game and I think it helps and it's not the first time of played this before. I had the SNES cart but I just never beat the final boss; that last dungeon threw me for a loop since you kinda need to have a lot of people leveled up, rather than just your "core" crew.

BTW, is anyone else playing on mobile? I've gotten over the sprites and I figured out a way to fix the UI in battles to be more palatable (i.e. no more rising menus).

Entering Sabin's Blitz commands is soooo much easier with the touch screen and I'm wondering if that's the reason why the game has been relatively easy so far. I seem to recall having much more difficulty back in the day but it's been a while.

Edgar is a pedophile sex pest and Locke is a violent thief. They're bad people, and I think you're supposed to realize it. I don't think their characterization is really a joke. They're not your friends, they're allies in a war.

There's no way that I am going to finish Dishonored 2 before the end of April.

I will definitely play Lost Legacy and Eden. I have serious doubts that I will beat the latter as I had no idea that it was known for being difficult (plus being a roguelike is something that I often do not feel motivated enough to beat). I have gone through Wet twice, with the second time just being a few years ago, so I don't think a third is in the cards. It's a bummer that it is not available digitally for the rest of you.

FF6 progress:
I've got the airship in the World of Ruin. Technically I could go after Kefka now but I don't think I'm going to get it done with 5 low 30s characters.

Going to have to run around a bunch and pick up everyone else and some of the Espers and level up/learn more spells a good bit.

So yeah, maybe if it was winter and I had nothing else to do in the evenings I could get it done but not with this beautiful weather.

Dishonored 2 isn't that long...if you've already started it. If you're not me and you play faster and don't try to get all the runes/bonecharms, it's probably 10-12 hours. As opposed to myself who sneaks like a snail and took 2-3 times that amount of time.

Picked up the Falcon last night. Definitely behind schedule, since that's about where I wanted to be saturday night or sunday morning, but ended up just grinding this weekend. Will try to at least pick everyone else up tonight and see where things go from there.

Cody has beaten Star Fox 64

I pulled out my N64 and gave this a playthrough. I'm not actually good at this game so I took the easier Venom final boss route. It is fun, I enjoy the Star Fox world.

Got a little less done last night than I wanted to, but I got everyone except Locke and Gogo and killed 4 of the dragons. Will try to do as much sidequesting done as I can tonight and start trying the final dungeon by friday at the latest.

Sorry bout this one guys. I really thought I'd have the motivation to finish this one but I kinda fell into a pretty bad pocket of depression the last couple months and haven't finished a game in like 6 or 7 weeks. I'm climbing out of it finally but I kinda knew back by like the second week of April that there was no way I was going to finish fucking Final Fantasy VI by tomorrow.

I should finish up the sidequests (besides the GBA version ones) tonight, and then just have to catch up some of the other party members so they're a little more usable in the final dungeon. So I still should be able to beat it tomorrow.

Gameking has beaten Final Fantasy VI.

Glad I could beat this in time. Had a good time playing it despite some instances that haven't aged well... Edward has some uncomfortable moments.

The battle system was really solid and the art direction for enemies is just so cool. It's a really impressive game, especially for it's time.

FF6 Progress:
I've got all the party members and a good chunk of the Espers.

Problem is that all my characters are between 30-40 and, outside of my core team of 3-4, not enough know mid-tier spells, much less the good, high level ones. I'll likely need to do a bit of grinding to get some spells on people and have enough decent equipment to outfit them for the last dungeon.

I should have time tomorrow to at least give it a go but it'll be close if I can beat the clock.

WOOOOOOOOOOO!

I (finally) finished Final Fantasy 6!

Having now seen the ending, I definitely never saw that back on the SNES. It was...fine I guess.

Kefka's Tower had some tough moments as I didn't do the best job balancing my team and one was definitely underpowered. I had spent a few hours earlier today grinding my "mains" so they at least had Curaga, Arise, Reraise, and 1-2 with Ultima. That ended up being pretty damn important as there's no way I would have beaten Kefka without those spells.

I ended up having to unequip and re-equip each time I switched teams so that I could cut down on grinding for gil and items. One key thing was to keep a team on a save point so that I could avoid redoing large sections if (when...) I died. Plus, it would let you use a Tent even for the team not physically on the save point.

I came thiiiis close to losing to Kefka but had just enough luck to get everyone back on their feet again to deliver the final few hits. Being able to have Gogo mimic an Ultima, or Sabin Blitz, or Curaga was clutch.

Overall, FF6 is still a fun game but it certainly feels it's 25+ years of age. The music is still top notch though!

it's nice to have a refresher (and to beat it properly without cheesing vanish/doom), since there were parts of the game I forgot about. Mostly I just remember grinding Intangirs/in the dinosaur forest, and the final battle. >_>
