I think the most elegant solution would be to have Jimmy lose the restaurant to his wife, and she takes over and turns out to be just as bad as Jimmy.

Otherwise just silently retire him into a background character.

You can't really write him out entirely because you lose Jimmy Jr., who is pretty big in the show. There's also the twins and Trev to a lesser extent.

But yeah, I can't see the VA returning after this. The show really wouldn't want the negative PR from any of that.

I didn't read the thread, but that would work too.

Bob does have quite a few rivals already, so the show could function without Jimmy overall, but it would take a hit since Jimmy is easily the most prevalent.

I could totally see having Jimmy go to jail in universe due to storming the capital and then basically what happens to Jimmy is what happens to his VA.

If the VA doesn't serve jail time and comes back after community service, there it is. If he does serve some time, have that happen and write him back in when he is released.

Assuming his voice is not too hard to replicate for someone else, just recast.

Tbh I doubt they'd acknowledge it so directly. I could maybe see something where Jimmy gets arrested for committing tax fraud or using horse meat in this food (which was already an episode, so they could tie it in by having him continue to use it since it's cheap) and Bob getting the last laugh. It'd be a fairly fitting way to close out Jimmy's story since the rivalry was such a big point that Bob actually finally getting the last laugh as a business owner would really be a nice way to retire the character.

I'd be pretty surprised if they let the VA come back. They show just isn't going to want that controversy, even aside from potential legal consequences that the VA is facing. If Jimmy Pesto stays on as a character, it's probably through a recast.

As long as they don't cancel the show altogether, I'm not that bothered. Jimmy was never that great a character anyway. They could just not show him on screen anymore (or even just not give him lines) and I'd probably never notice - compared to, say, Early on Squidbillies who they're gonna need to recast if they want to keep that show going.

Yeah, I could see a world where they just silently retire him into a background character.

If it was like, Teddy or Mr. Frond or someone more prevalent, they'd definitely have to find a way around it, but Jimmy Pesto could probably just be cut from storylines without much changing, if they really wanted to. It would probably be the end of Trev as a character, but he's not that important.
