every time it goes back up i buy them back. Not a ton of profit but made a few hundred with (imo) very low risk

So my portfolio stands at 19 stocks, but 8 of those are space stocks, of which 7 are companies I bought purely because they are in the space industry. Once ARKX comes out, I can probably close those 7 and just buy ARKX. That would bring me back to 12, which is a reasonable number.

So then.... I am interested in getting into NTDOY. I feel the value of the brands is really really high. We are also on the cusp of breaching the long-term high from 2007.

As a traditionalist Japanese company, Nintendo is generally late adapting to most trends, but I feel as they've worked to modernize themselves in recent years. They've long since entered mobile gaming, they do DLC now, they seem to license their IPs for merchandising a lot more (beyond amiibo), and they've finally gotten over the SMB movie and reentered feature films with Detective Pikachu. Super Nintendo World would be a much bigger deal if not derailed by Covid, and it'll probably be a cash cow for years. I'm sure streaming shows for one or more of their IPs is somewhere down the pipeline (just please not Zelda).

NTDOY was the first individual stock I ever bought back in 2011 (so yeah it's made me good money), but I'll probably be buried with it, so don't look at me as an unbiased source here. >_>

I took a quick look at the balance sheet and they still appear to be hoarding about $10 billion in cash rather than investing it, which is what I remembered them doing 15+ years ago. I would have thought with a new CEO they might have changed that strategy (which the market hates), but that they'll keep doing it has probably been priced in by this point. If they ever decide to invest it or pay it out in dividends instead of letting it sit for decades, that should also cause a nice bump to the stock (although I wouldn't expect it to happen at this point).

Also, Nintendo is a trend maker, not a trend follower, which is really rare and which I like.

Fair, but that philosophy also means they'll be the last holdout as we continue to approach the Disney singularity, where Mickey has devoured everything except Mario.

And I personally enjoy seeing at least one company operate that conservatively, especially one I want to live forever. Only about 20% of Nintendo's book value is comprised of debt, which is incredible (as a comparison, for Microsoft it's 60%).

Honestly when I saw the IPO is going to ballpark Roblox at 30b I lost a lot of interest. Looking at the video gaming options in that market cap range it's just not worth that. You've got a ton of growth priced in at that value.

There has GOT to be a way to preemptively identify the stocks that go up over 100% everyday. Aside from anything illegal, that is. Such as going online and searching for key words? All these medical companies always collaborate or get contracts or something with other companies, and thats what leads to their gain.

And when you look at the news they released the week leading up to their big gain days, they always allude to an upcoming conference or announcement.

For every medical stock that goes up 100% on a hyped announcement there are 20 that go down 15 to 20% on a disappointing one. You really have to do your research on those stocks

Sunroof isn't wrong. Ive also toyed with the idea.

The problem being that oftentimes the thing causing the stock going up is volume related, so even if you did know its not certain you could just put infinite money into it which probably stops hedge funds from really going all in.
