There's definitely a spike but I never found it bad (unlike yakuza like a dragon). Just stay on top of fusions and make sure you have 3-4 high level personas that cover every element. I only needed buffs and debuffs in the last two or three palaces

Two turns, yeah.

The easiest to execute strat is probably (spoilering in case you don't want it) Using elemental damage items to baton pass your way around so that the party member who naturally carries the weakness skill and Joker are the third and fourth, and let the baton pass power up carry you to massive damage numbers to take all four out with AoE magic

The Okumura fight is easily the worst part about P5R. It's so poorly designed and anti-fun.

Interestingly, I read somewhere that the fight is actually easier on the Merciless difficulty because weaknesses and technicals hit for 3x damage, but I haven't tried it myself.

This is also true. Merciless in general is easier than Hard for even slightly knowledgeable/intelligent players for this exact reason - Weaknesses/Crits/Technicals hitting for 3x damage is the defining feature of the difficulty, and quite exploitable.

I had a very hard time with this fight, am playing P5R now. I lucked through most of it my first time but used up almost all my time and then messed up at the end, and then had several runs where this part stopped me cold. I didn't want to go reorganize/find more items/use different characters, so I ended up trusting in crit RNG to eventually get me there.

Specifically, party member confidants are locked between the time you secure the route and when you send the calling card

Hifumi is pretty great, Kawakami is significantly overrated imo

Im only in August but so far Ill say I really like Kasumi and Marukis additions to the game. Maruki especially, I like seeing scenes with the main cast that dont involve the MC. Akechis social link has been pretty fun too so far.

I like them a lot too. And they're thrown in very naturally. What's also cool is seeing different s.link characters randomly bump into each other in certain points of the s.link or during the sporadic hangout sessions they sometimes invite you to.

Akechi getting an actual S-link instead of being "we met up once and I understand him more" makes his eventual role all the better.

This game does a lot of things very well. Which makes the prominent role the SIU Director aka Walking Plot Exposition Man that much more upsetting.

Also, Sae is a terrible prosecutor lmao. For awhile I was able to convince myself her apparent leaps in logic or nonsensical conclusions were a tactic/bluff to get Joker to talk more. But it's just too much.

But even not counting her quips for the social links, which I can at least understand the need for some contrivance, her main story dialogue has me scratching my head sometimes.

Its insane to me that SIU Director never even gets a proper name. It makes no sense that someone who is so integral to the plot is just known was profession name. Thats like, funky student background-character tier naming.

one I think I wish Royal DID do was integrate Haru into the story earlier. I think shes been in a couple extra scenes but I think they could have done a lot more.

I'm bummed to hear Haru isn't given adequate screentime. I think she's my favorite girl of the squad. Definitely for her phantom outfit, it's so fucking good. And for some reason I find that I have a thing for female rpg characters who wield axes.

I'm really looking forward to Strikers!! Hopefully she gets more time to shine there. I've kept myself mostly blind from that game because I didn't want to get spoiled for P5, but reception seems to be pretty solid for both gameplay and story.

She's kinda got the most interesting basis for being in the group, too.
