Welp, wish I knew that there was a difference between voiced cutscenes and non-voiced cutscenes when it comes to queues procking during them. That's two penalties in the last 24 hours so far :/

It's not voiced vs unvoiced; you can't accept a queue if the quest moves you to a new locaton after the cutscene

Maybe it's just something to get used to, but I find it strange how many major events for main scenario characters happen in the "extra" content?

Just did a Sycrus that was so on point it was comical. It was like I was running fucking Satasha. We DPSed Amon down so hard that we almost didn't even have to worry about getting behind the ice blocks, he only had 2% left when he nuked and it hit nobody anyways, lol.

It's almost silly how easy 2.x content is in retrospect.

Back when I first did it I was losing my shit at the wild mechanic of...everyone get in a circle for Cloud of Darkness.

Obviously this is excluding the Bahamut I will never be able to play....and Odin.

Meteor deaths are always funny. Shoutouts to people hiding behind rocks that are in the boss's hitbox and getting owned because it breaks the mechanic.

Another good one is Ancient Flare in Labyrinth of the Ancients causing MORE problems now that it's common to skip the second one (and sometimes maybe even the first?). It's still not guaranteed, so parties split on trying to burn the boss vs being cowards and the entire raid wipes due to lack of commitment.

I always say "no retreat or no balls" in alliance chat before the boss :D

Also I like to be on the pads on the Atomos so I can repeatedly step on and off the pad every half second to troll the other parties. <_<

The only thing that tilts me in labyrinth, which has only ever happened to me once, is if your alliance a, and someone from B runs forward and pulls Thanatos before anyone is in range to get tethered to Thanatos, so literally no one can damage the boss at the start.

Maybe I will change my mind later by right now nothing is worse then rouletting to Praetorium.

Running through a whole dungeon fighting nothing but the bosses and skipping every mob, sitting through 20+ minutes of cutscenes, Ultima is made so obsolete by gear that I, zero exaggeration, just did the fight while watching YouTube without looking at the screen via muscle memory as RDM.

Like it's not even just phase 1. You can just straight up stand still and tank all the lasers in phase 2.

My first time I was panicking SO MUCH. So many lasers, oh God!

From what I understand, Praetorium gives significantly more exp than Castrum. If you are going in for tomes, the latter is better value. If you are going in for exp, Praetorium is MUCH better for the time spent.

Personally I think both are too long to be worth my time so I only run it when I am truly desperate. Most people use them as "free" exp/tomes while they alt-tab and afk which is efficient but isn't for me.

Yeah I'm just trying to get tomes to gear up my RDM with Poetics gears. I switched over to balance my leveling for the MSQ, and I realized I my gear level was hot garbage when I got completely blown up in a fate.

Mouse is way more precise on pointing. That's like the whole reason FPS play better on PC than on console.

It would only be worse if you used keyboard to turn instead of the mouse but by gawd I hope people know not to do that because that should be a crime.

I didn't realize people used mouses for movement. Back when my friends were all playing WoW it was WASD for all of them.

You do use WASD as well.

Basically WASD = left stick, mouse = right stick, in simplified terms. You hold down right click to turn the camera while moving with WASD. W is forward, S is back, A and D are strafe left/right. So you point where you're going with the mouse, thus turning with it.

So navigating the 'tight-rope' is literally just 'point the camera so you're looking straight, then hit W to go in a straight line'.

It works roughly the same as controller but its more precise because you can make smaller camera movements.

Also saving the best for last with Y'shtola.

I feel like her being blind was only very lightly utilized prior to this, if at all. It basically had absolutely no effect on the character whatsoever outside of....when she talked about it in 3.0.

Saving my detailed thoughts on the Scions until you finish, but suffice to say I was very pleased with how they were collectively handled this expansion

77 levels into Summoner and I have to admit, this class is fairly easy if you don't hyper-micromanage your pet. Apparently there's a small DPS boost if you do so, but I'm hardly struggling with topping the parser regardless.

I am honestly very excited to go back and level all those level 1 base classes up after finishing MSQ, lol. Something about the simplicity of it is attractive. Summoner will likely be the next magic DPS I do. Black Mage is already at 50...might honestly be the last class I go back to since I already spent so much time with it.

First priority though is Paladin...but maybe I'll do the Dark Knight questline and THEN go back to Paladin? The reason I wanted to do Dark Knight first anyways was because of how famous that questline is, before my unrivaled thirst for the Ivalice Tank set shifted my priorities.

There's a bunch of ways to make the leveling grind easier which will be posted if you go down that route.

I know I've said this repeatedly, and I don't want to overhype, but Dark Knight is worth leveling literally just for the storyline even if you don't playing the class. It feels...canon, for lack of a better word.
