yeesh, DNN almost back to $1

Looks like I'll be going long on this one

Christ Jesus, below 80k. -45 grand from 2 weeks ago.

I have now basically run out of dry powder to average down with after scooping up hella cheap IEA warrants at 2.75. I am now proceeding the process of trying to exit almost all of my positions with profit over the next couple of weeks to have cash to throw at AVCTW before the call. IEA has earnings on Monday, hopefully that will be my first close with profit. Currently down 7 grand in it, which is better than some other positions!

After I close these positions and make my AVCTW trade, I think I'm out of the market for a while. Time for another break.

Yeah, that is way too short a time scale. The long run return of the stock market is like 9% a year. Expecting more than 10% in 2 weeks is crazy unrealistic.

You should know by now I'm not in ordinary stocks. After buying the dip on IEAWW I'm almost already break even like that.

The one I'm worried about is AMYZF. Oh and...FPVD lmao what a dumpster fire. I'll be holding bags there forever probably. Who knows maybe a year from now it'll somehow make me rich. But that's an investment I don't even factor into making back.

Ark says they have a minimum 15%/year hurdle rate for expected return to buy a stock. So let's go a bit more aggressive than that and figure for 20% a year. 30% a year excluding major bear markets. 10% a week works out to something like 170x (that's 170 times, not +170%) a year. I mean obviously +10% weeks will happen. +10% days will happen. +10% hours may happen. But you can't expect them to happen as if that were anything like the average.

Next time the market is rising, I'm going to try the strategy of having a cash reserve so I can buy on days like this without selling other stuff. It's probably not optimal but psychologically better. Or, I might make the cash reserve KO stock. I view that as about as safe as cash, but with a dividend and a gradual rise.

cash reserve is never a bad idea. The percentage you keep should depend on how bullish or bearish you are on the market but you should never really be 0% or 100% invested.

I think today will be the worst of what has been a very bad few weeks. I think things are bottoming out soon. I cant imagine another red day tomorrow without bad news. Theres not really any real reason for this to be happening other than panic selling. I dont think tomorrow will be an overwhelmingly positive day but I do reckon it will offset some of todays losses at least.

I just made my first crypto purchase. BTC is at $60,700ish according to my broker Wealth Simple, and I see $48000 USD / 60,800 CAD on other trading platforms like Coinbase and Binance, which I think was live data. Even so, that was 30 minutes ago and I still se similar prices. So that seems like it's the market price

I put my purchase through thirty minutes ago and it says the price is $62k - but the price isn't reflective of what they'll fulfill, they'll get whatever the best market price is. I think ok, maybe this is delayed to the real time data I'm seeing.... and they fulfill it at $62,088. Their own price graph still shows it being around $60,800 this whole time...

If I choose the sell option, the price they offer me is $59,777

They are just scamming $1k off the side either way, right? They advertise this as commission free but this seems so bogus. It doesn't look like they are obtaining market price at all.

I panic sold RIOT for $950 gain. Im still more confident than not that its going up 10% tomorrow at some point (likely open) but I dont have the cajones to have this much in after such a bloody week/day.

I just need homie stock EVRI to hit $14.80 to complete my day tomorrow.

Yeah, most of those numbers are CAD, i put that $48k to $61k conversion there to peg my stuff to the USD prices you might be familiar with. Basically, I bought at $49k and can sell at $47k. So if I bought when prices were $48k USD, they'll have to rise to $50k so I can sell at $49k in order to break even. Possibly minor if there's big gains in the future but REALLY impacts the margins here as it stays flat or goes down.

How does this scale up? I only put in about $500 so maybe the commission drove this, and they are including that commission in the price. Is that typical? If I put $5500 or $55000 would the price still effectively be $62k CAD or would a small flat transaction fee have smoothed out to a small impact? If I enter any purchase price right now I notice its still give me the $62k price so it looks to me that it will fulfill it around there no matter what.

I think I am back to where I was before the week GME went to the moon, in terms of gains. The loss over the past 3 weeks represents 50% of my total gains from March of last year to February 11 of this year (and I guess that means the gains over the 3 weeks before that also account for 50% of the total gains). Account balance is still higher than it was on January 22 because I've continued depositing the majority of my paychecks into the market.

So if you told me on January 22 that on March 4, I'd be even with that level, I guess that wouldn't have been very surprising. What a rollercoaster way to get there though.
