I've known I am an ENFJ for a while. I had to take a personality test a few times in my life. It seems to line up pretty accurately with who I am. It suggests that I would be good as a counselor/psychologist which is nice to hear. lol.

Well not straight up, I was using that comparison for hyperbole, but I do think its still not a good way of determining someone's personality, there is so much more that goes into someone's personality. There is more than 16 different kinds of people in this world

These are general categories based on your personality traits. 16 is a pretty large combination.

And just saying, that comparison isn't fair so you shouldn't try to make it again.

It doesn't determine someone's exact personality. As you said, there is too much variation in people's personalities for that. It is however a good way to get a good picture of what someone is generally like. They tend to be accurate enough for that purpose. Categories serve all sorts of purposes. We use them to describe pretty much everything: people's political views, genres of music, cultural backgrounds, food groups, etc etc. If someone were to tell me they are a democrat or they only listen to country music, it tells me a little bit about that person. A personality test goes a bit deeper than that and actually has a scientific basis. 16 types of personalities is pretty broad. Try taking it. If anything for just a bit of fun and to see if you agree with the results.

just looking at the questions, i can pretty well guess most people get the results for the person they most want to be, not the person they actually are. i would guess a lot of people will get INTJ or INTP, believing themselves to be highly intelligent and logical, when in reality they are overtly emotional and probably around average intelligence (i mean, aren't most of us?). interesting test, but i would put exactly 0 faith in the results.

I would assume most people would be curious enough to have an actual projection of their personality, so they would be motivated to answer honestly. Getting a result based off lying for this test doesn't do anything for you. There are actual tests that can tell if a person is lying/faking their answers though. Personality categories aren't really considered better or worse than eachother. Theyre just different. Aside from that, this test doesn't measure intelligence at all so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Lol

INTJ, always knew I was and this test confirms it.

For example, if you ask most people whether they think they are more logical or more emotional and OF COURSE they say logical. Watch those same people and you'll notice they are governed way more by their emotions than they think, just like everyone else.

You can say none are supposed to be better or worse, but that's just more BS. First of all, people have preferences. They like certain personalities and they dislike others, and are therefore going to see some of those as better than others, whether they do so consciously or not. Second, I never said they were choosing their fake results, just their probably fake answers.

Personality tests are fun, but dumb. Imagine trying to summarize a complex human being with a couple dozen vague questions.

Lol. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on some things. I don't actually believe a person's entire personality can be summed up by one test, but I think you go a bit overboard with your belief about people's tendency to misrepresent themselves. It might be true for some people, but I'm sure many people can acknowledge that they have less desirable traits. It's not as hard to admit as you make it seem. I mean, you even alluded to that fact yourself when you said that most people act out of emotion. If you can admit that many people act that way, why wouldn't other people be able to? I can admit that I sometimes do. Are you saying most people are incapable of being honest about themselves?

Also, I would guess that people may disagree about which personality traits listed here are "preferable." The difference of preference is probably also rooted in their personality. Either way, it gives you something interesting to think about when it comes to personality differences.

These testimonials seem a little heavy.

I was honestly shocked how accurate it was. I teared up a bit because it was like there was a person looking inside my mind and telling me what they saw.

I cant believe how accurate this was... Word for word. I never felt so understood. I thought I was the only one of my kind.

It is undeniably eerie how the description and traits nailed me so thoroughly. Wish I had known about my personality type 20 years ago, that would have saved me much grief.

Seems a tad over the top for your personality results.

Does this site seem off to anyone else? Its got this weird cultish vibe to me. Like the kind you see in a personal trainer trying to sell you a 6 month plan with a ton of supplements attached to it.
