I agree. If I don't have any prior attachment to the characters or franchise, a gacha game needs to have amazing gameplay and a theme that I really like to keep me interested past the first month. Only one gacha game that I've tried has managed to pass that test, and that was Girls' Frontline.

I'm looking forward to another one coming out soon (Birdie Crush, a golf-themed gacha game) and I'm hoping that it can keep my attention.

Nio I haven't used in ages, Tiamat has replaced her in most teams now thanks to having FA heals (and I got a free C Seruel, so with his backline passive I get free Earth damage reduction). I haven't really touched Eternal 6*, still waiting to see what the full requirements are like. Though as of the latest notes I'm really glad I didn't since now you can reduce Silver Relic weapons into shards.

Well previously we only had Anre and Tweyen who weren't exactly meta until the uncap allowed for a new lease of life in some areas, though I'm kinda hoping for a general rework of Niyon before her 6* uncap, the actual transcendence process doesn't seem like something I'd be actively chasing considering I'm still putting off my FLB Seraphics lol. I haven't changed my wind frontline in a long while and am still running the 5* smol qt team, though I also haven't gotten anyone terribly interesting in terms of teamwide utility aside from uh Lecia, Rosetta and Kaede (Whom I actually brought to FaaH as a discount Yurius lol) Also Lumberjack already provides FA healing so I'm not exactly needing much on that front either lol

On another note SSR Drunken Fist Lamretta being able to no-sell boss autos up to Raid Bubs on basically permanent uptime in V2 is pretty wild, might be the first really good defensive non-seasonal earth SSR in awhile lol. I did my Bubs solo quest recently with standard spear magna fire and it's almost kind of weird how pedestrian the fight can get once you can settle down his initial auto barrage via buff/debuff stacking and most of the difficulty after just comes down to bad RNG lol so having something to manage his autos would definitely be helpful

The Sakura Taisen gacha game is full 3D too, and I think it looks like one of the better ones, at least in terms of cleanliness. Problem with 3D gacha is that gachas thrive on content drip, and 3D makes it so much harder

Yeah the gear rng in Priconne is starting to really piss me off. Spending 100+ stamina and not being able to get 5 pieces for 1 gear and this happening a lot of times is really off-putting.

Yeah since they're taking their sweet fucking time with this game, nobody's just gonna sit on the game and do nothing til an event rolls around whoever the fuck knows when. Gear farming is definitely a serious hamper. This game doesn't really have much gameplay to begin with and gear farming is like just even more lack of interactivity.

I like the story bits, that much I can't deny, but I'd rather play a good VN instead or something

Yeah thats a hell of a lot of stuff, and Im playing games at work lol.

I have a couple of factors that help, for better and worse.

For one I have access to a second device, so multi-tasking is possible, though also necessary because neither one is capable of playing everything. Compatibility be a shit sometimes.

Secondly, I'm homeless, but still have a means of keeping my phones charged and wifi spots here and there. So tons of free time, but zero means of buying anything.

I've reached the ones I wanted to farm. I can't reach the much harder ones because I need to grind for gears, so they're kinda mutually exclusive for me. Either way, at the moment, I think the expected completion of a single ascension is also kinda absurd for anybody except maybe Kokkoro

I honestly don't get how some mfers have 5* characters already, other than spending all their gems on stamina and hard mode refills, or pulling like mad lads and spending all their amulets.

WTF WAS THIS BULLSHIT. In Opera Omnia I did the level 150 Cosmos co-op quest with Heretic Dark Bahamut. I cleared the first wave with the 2 mechanical bird things, then dragon boy comes in...

Before I can do anything, he does Megaflare, which breaks the team and one shots everyone with like 24K damage. Luckily he only did that 1 out of the 3 times I did that stage, but it was fucking stupid as hell <_<

Im soft launch and the extra month didnt make much difference. I only have one 3* that I didnt pull for (Kokkoro) and only 3 characters at rank 7. I spent almost all that month stuck in one spot. People with 5* characters must be spending like crazy.

The first 3 each day only cost 40 jewels and they're absolutely worth it if you want to progress quicker, then the next 3 cost 60 jewels and are worth doing early on as well. I did 6 every day during my entire time in the soft-launch and the first couple days of the full launch, then 3 a day since then. Trust me, the extra progress you can make (especially in the Arena) and extra grinding you can do each day make it more than worth it.

You run out of shit to do in one unless you whale so some people just go play a different one while waiting. If you never spend dropping these games is generally not a hard decision.

Mmm I'm not sure about that for myself, at least while there's not multi-drop event going on. It's been drilled into me to never use gacha currency for stamina.

I was conditioned like that for a while too, but progressing in PriConne early on is pretty slow without those refills, and the first 3 refills are so cheap that you earn back far more than you put in... especially once you factor in how the extra grinding helps you get higher ranks in the arena.

Because of the way the Arena brackets work (every "bracket" contains 15,000 people grouped together by when they first unlocked the Arena) you're always facing people who started the game around the same time as you. That means using those refills early on to progress farther into the game faster lets you climb the arena faster as well, and considering the huge amount of jewels you get for ranking up and reaching a high rank (even if you fall back down a bit later) you get back far more than you spent on those refills. I'm in the top 1500 in my bracket in large part thanks to the refills giving me a head start over the other people in my bracket, and have earned tons of extra jewels as a result.

I don't even care about the actual ranking itself, but the jewel income from it has been nothing short of incredible.

Yeah Ive always been doing 3 refreshes at the minimum. Early stages I tend to do 6 just because it's so easy to regain those gems back and the constant level ups keep you chugging.

I've never stam refreshed myself. I dunno if I'm in a simpler bracket, but the highest I've reached was 1100th, which was a lot of gems.

I've found my trick of battling full gold teams to go up to at least lvl 55. Also compositionally, some teams bizarrely run like 0 tank and Makoto as their main carry, which is also free wins. At least they make refreshing arena opponents pretty easy but I don't end up using all my arena attempts because of that 5 min bs and not playing this game for too long. Sadly due to a lack of skip ticket, I've had to let the game running longer than I'd like, which at least lets me do all the arena tries.
