Start by signing up for an account and picking a few stocks you like and buying a few shares to see how it goes.

Some of us in here are doing kind of insane trades but before you can get anywhere near that you need to get comfortable just watching stocks go up and down otherwise youll get raked over the coals by transaction costs (Both explicit in terms of fees, but also implicit by accidentally getting into illiquid positions and huge gulfs between what the buyers are paying and what the sellers are selling)

I should add, historically stocks go up, and buying random stocks is just as successful as trying to pick stocks 99% of the time, so dont sweat what you are buying. Just pick some companies you recognize and it probably isnt going to be worse than not investing.

I think I have only actually done 2 true day trades since last March. One was HPR in June, which made me $60 and collapsed shortly after I got out. The other was GME in December when I decided I had bought too much and decided to lower the amount I was holding a bit. Well, that one was a mistake lol.

All I can say is thank god I didnt put my normal $25k into AMC, GME, and NOK. Id be looking at quintuple digit losses. You all are saying to hold still but that seems incredibly ridiculous at this point. Roll your eyes if you must, but these values are just way too high.

I dont have much skin in this game, but yeah, Robinhood freezing buys on those particular stocks seems super sketch.
