Every so often he will come off as an incompetent creep that sniffs hair and rubs shoulders a bit too long, but there are so many other times where he is just so genuine and compassionate that I just can't bring myself to hate the guy. Seems like a real nice, empathetic man.

he seems like a return to the standard level of incompetence to me, which is a welcome change, but goddamn, we should be able to do better.

It's so nice and empathetic to get rid of the ability to get rid of student loan debt in bankruptcy. It's so nice and empathetic to say he has no empathy for millennials.

This is why you should ignore most things about politicians save for their political actions and whether or not they've committed crimes; you don't want your perspective to be colored by the apparent personality/mannerisms of the politician. The only exception is that you should pay attention to the nature of their rhetoric because of how it affects the populace (Trump being the poster boy for why).

If you don't know who Strom Thurmond is, well..... I suppose all you need to know that he is the filibuster world record holder at 24 hours and 18 minutes.

Why, what bill was it that Thurmond felt so determined to filibuster with such fervor because he felt in his heart that it would change America for the worse? Oh, just a little thing called the Civil Rights Act. This fucking Hitler level racist used his hate to channel demonic strength to filibuster the Civil Rights Act for an entire fucking day.

Now what does it tell you about Joe Biden that he was proud to call this man who was arguably even more evil than Donald Trump "one of my closest friends"? AND that he actually worked together with Strom Thurmond to push "crime bills" that disproportionally affected black people and even co-sponsored one of Thurmond's bills? Oh, he wasn't just friends. He was Thurmond's sidekick.

Make no mistake. Anyone who voted for Biden in the primaries over Bernie who marched with the Civil Rights Movement and was arrested for it committed just as grievous betrayal of American values as anyone who voted for Trump.

The only reason there is a gap between the two at their worst is because Biden has a lower capacity for evil because he is dumber, while Trump at his worst involves setting up uterus removing concentration camps on US soil.

having debt literally means you're in debt.

debt means you owe money to someone.

having over 400 million dollars in debt is not something that just "happens". it means you have continually not paid someone what you owe them.

you do not do that if you have money. being in debt is a bad thing. it means you pay exponentially more in taxes, something that trump doesn't do either.

why?

one reason is that he doesn't have the money for it. most of his business either fail, or barely break even, hence why he borrowed millions from China and Russia to fund buildings in those respective countries.

The problem isn't the age, it's the people who they pick who are that age. More importantly -- and let this sink in for a second -- but Joe Biden very well may be the best candidate put forward by the DNC in that election (given it included all kinds of jokes like Andrew Yang and Tom "What Bernie Said" Steyer, alongside perennial joke Bernie Sanders who has collected a government check nearly all of his very long life yet flunks basic foreign policy questions), which is just all kinds of sad.
