I dont want open borders as that makes little sense.

Also I would gladly let the government figure out how to reduce spending rather than each person. They are far better equipped. Also by cutting out the middle man by default it's cheaper than now

And that makes sense to why we have differences of opinion. I believe literally anyone who isn't a criminal who wants to come to America should be able to, and I acknowledge the sacrifices that would have to be made to make it happen

near unlimited migration is definitely in the hard libertarianism camp of things so that's not surprising.
i'm more in camp of government over businesses for that one. government regulates things in necessary checkpoints, to assure the status of its country first, and businesses are to follow along that. prefer that over businesses controlling over everything by virtue of numbers. so i don't even register unlimited migration as a plausible item. you've your individual freedom in this country but other countries have their other rules and we sacrifice part of ours so that we have ours too.

Honestly I think some of my views on that are because I lived in Ghana a couple years. Had a buddy who made $90 a MONTH at his job.

It's just bullshit that the country someone is born in determines so much of their wellbeing. I don't think being born in America should entitle me to a higher level of living than someone born in a poor country.

but what was the cost of living there for him? also how much he makes monthly should honestly be secondary to things us in the first world are massively spoiled over, like a home with clean, running water, electricity, and a toilet.

but yes, your birthplace determines 90% of your life options and there isn't really an ideal solution to that. the best we've figured out has been what a lot of the 20th century was with the way capitalism rose more people out of poverty than ever before. continuing that trend to try to raise the standards of other places to have some of what we consider basic necessities would probably be the best long-term solution, though it has a lot of cracks in it as we also would need to improve our conditions too. basically, if you target countries over individual people you'll be able to help more people. each individual may not be able to gain as much but the gains will reflect a lot more within a few generations and all of those will be in a better position than their predecessors.

No reason to create a shadow class that fears immigration more than violent criminals do. Since that shadow class would be very useful in gaining intel.

And hey, those people coming in? They'd be tax-payers (kind of like they are now!)

Depending on your job it can be really hard to line up an employer beforehand. But I think the vouching system could be handled better. Make it more like co-signing for a house. If you are vouching for someone to come to this country so either they will be able to support themselves shortly after arrival or you will support them until they can.

I cant believe I need to post this, but a healthcare system that covers everybody saves money. America spends 2-3x per capita what public systems like the UK and Italy do, half of it private. These systems are designed to save money by cutting bureaucracy and making people healthier. Its well shown!

https://forward.com/opinion/462603/andrew-yang-mayoral-race-new-york-city-jewish-community/

A Yang administration will push back against the BDS movement, which singles out Israel for unfair economic punishment. Not only is BDS rooted in antisemitic thought and history, hearkening back to fascist boycotts of Jewish businesses, its also a direct shot at New York Citys economy. Strong ties with Israel are essential for a global city such as ours, which boasts the highest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel. Our economy is struggling, and we should be looking for ways to bring back small businesses, not stop commerce.

Granted, $1M is barely anything in the grand scheme of things, but the dems really need to work on improving local politics and not get complacent because they won at the national level.

Yes, cherry pick the one person who said that instead of everyone else who said it was a bad look from biden. (a bad look because it resembled the type of phrasing that Trump would have used)

And the main point is that there were several other more reasonable ways Biden could have responded because this is essentially a non-issue.

During the course of the epic trilogy, the rightful King of Gondor had abandoned the throne. Since only the rightful king could sit on the throne of Gondor, a steward was appointed to manage Gondor until the return of the King, known as Aragorn, occurred at the end of the story. This analogy is applicable since there is now in Washington, D.C., a group of individuals calling themselves the President, Vice President, and Congress who have no rightful claim to govern the American People. Accordingly, as set forth in the Proposed Temporary Restraining Order, as a remedy the Court should appoint a group of special masters (the Stewards) to provide a check the power of the illegitimate President until this Constitutional Crisis can be resolved through a peaceful legal process of a Preliminary Injunction Hearing and a jury trial on the merits.

i mean there's always gonna be a couple false flaggers in any large enough riot. hell, some of them aren't even really part of any movement beyond wanting to see shit burn regardless of who does it, so you'll have some overlap within anarchists as a result there. you'll also get some government agents, FBI and CIA both are known for it. not to say that the vast majority of people in either case aren't what they say they are, but anyone trying to mount a defense pointing to false flaggers can easily get dismissed by agreeing with the position that they exist and it doesn't excuse all the people who aren't. if they agree with that, just keep breadcrumbing. if they don't, i'm not entirely sure there's anywhere to go.

same thing happened with the national guard story that just happened. the one about them being kicked out of the capitol, sent to the parking lot with 1 power strip and 1 bathroom for 5000 people. i mean after the reporting the decision was reverted but damage done: a few states are pulling back their troops. of course, now there's hundreds of new covid instances too and doubtful the parking lot situation helped for the positives that'll come out.

give it time and most other publications will get over their current hero worship with biden. they must've not gotten the memo, maybe CNN got it twice instead. certainly would explain their whole bit of biden needing to start from scratch that got called out by a couple outlets, Politico included. that one seems to be straight pr they put out.

So either "it's too soon to give him due process" or "enough time has passed, we need to move on".

You can say both fucking simultaneously.

The content worthy of impeachment isn't even complex forensic evidence that will require months to carefully procure. It's VIDEO FOOTAGE of things he said ON NATIONAL TELEVISION.

It's like "here, watch this footage from before/during/after the riots and watch him tell his supporters to march to the capitol and watch him say he loves the people who BROKE INTO THE CAPITOL. And it took us 5 minutes to gather this evidence BECAUSE WE RECORDED IT ON OUR DVR".
