Megaman X7. I had never played 7 or 8 yet when I got the legacy collections, and I decided to replay the series up to there.

1 is still great. 2 and 3 are still good. 4 and 5 are ok. 6 is a hot mess but its playable.

7 is, at its core, a broken game. This was a game made by people who didn't understand how these games actually work. I dropped this game twice until I had a wide open day and just forced my way through it and got it over with. This was over two months ago, but I still haven't touched 8 because of how bad 7 was. Its totally soured me on MMX.

This series could have ended at 3 pr ended at 6, but we got this blight to gaming out of it instead.

Well...."never touch again" doesn't really mean a game has to be that bad. I just want to play so many games, and the only ones I'd revisit are the ones I really love or am nostalgic about.

With that said, I played the Mad Max game. Definitely recommend a playthrough if you love the franchise or Fury Road particularly. It's a very basic sandbox, akham/mordor experience but the aesthetics/environment and characters make for an excellent entry in the greater series. Not a hard recommend though because the gameplay is just pretty bland if you try to go for 100% and there's a pretty chunky amount of repetitive content. Still though, I doubt I'd really ever play this again.

Pokemon Masters

Completely done with that game. Was kinda cool when it came out (and has a bangin' soundtrack you should check out, btw), but a few months of that game was more than enough.

i couldn't even go through act 2 which was basically just a shitty rerun of all the dungeons of act 1 again

like I'm accepting of how Bravely Default does that a number of times but good lord legendia it's such a massive drag and later chapters plots themselves are pretty shit anyways it's totally not worth it

I mean, I can't absolutely swear it would never happen, but it's the kind of game you play through and move on with your life. It is also awesome and free and very few people have little reason not to give it a whirl. It is pretty much the definition of short and sweet.

Most games I play I never touch again simply because I don't really do replays and I often try to 100% games, meaning there isn't really a reason to go back to them.

Games I played for the first time this year that I will go back to in the future:

Pokemon Sword (whenever a new event takes place)
Hades
TLOU2 (platinum playthrough)

That might be it? Unless I'm missing something big.

Mega Man Legends, the first 3D Mega Man game, came out in 1997. X7 was released in 2003.

If it was just improvements to the graphics, load times and framerate, no. Those all need fixing, but the technical issues in that game were the least of its issues. The bigger problem is that it's unfinished and the narrative is a mess, to the point that fixing it would be such a huge undertaking that I don't think SWERY can be bothered.

Days Gone.

Has a lot of standard open world trappings but the bike stuff and having to manage gas is cool at least in the early game. Sam Witwer turns in a good performance and the big hordes are fun to fight.

It's just way too damn long.
