Do you still live in the same city/town you grew up in for most of your childhood/teen life?

according to statistics, 56% of people end up staying or even going back to the city/town they grew up in as the other people ended up moving away cause they either hated their city/town or for work..

I moved around a lot, but somehow ended up back where I started. Where I live now is like 3 blocks from where I was born.

I didn't grow up one in place. I probably lived in most places by age 10 than most people will in their entire lives.

Born in Hampton, VA.
Lived in Tampa, FL throughout elementary school
Lived in Lutz, Fl throughout middle school
Lived in St. Petersburg throughout high school and some of my early twenties (spent most of 2007 and some of 2008 driving around the country for a job)
Lived in Orlando throughout my late 20s.
Lived in Tennessee since I was 30 (in Lafeyette, Hermitage and now in crossville).

Never lived in the same house or apartment for more than about 5-6 years. I generally consider myself from Florida, but I've not really lived in the same city or home long enough to consider them my hometown.

Yea, for the most part. I lived the next town over but it is all part of the same "metropolitan" area. Other then a couple of years living near Syracuse I pretty much lived in this area my whole life.

I'll probably move when I retire though, cost of living is great here, but not a great place to be retired to be honest.

Yes, though to be fair I live in a small country isolated in the middle of the ocean. There's not much room to move anywhere permanently unless you willing to spend lots of money and go overseas. If I lived in a big country like US I definitely would have moved around or at least gone on some big road trips to explore the place.

Born in northern suburbs of Chicago, lived there till I was 2.
Moved to California, lived in 4 different places in the space of 4 years (Garden Grove, San Pedro, a couple locations in San Diego)
Moved back to north Chicago, lived there until I was 9.
Moved to Jacksonville, FL, in October 1985, lived there ever since.

All the moving was due to my dad being in the Navy. By the time my family put down stakes in Jacksonville, I had more than enough of moving and didn't want to move again.

I kinda had the same experience, also involved Jacksonville at one point. My mom was in federal law enforcement and we moved around a bunch as a kid. By the time I got to high school I just said f it and planted my flag. All the rest of my family moved again and I stayed behind and started a life here in PA.

Born in nj near philly.
Moved to la at 6 months.
Moved to Memphis at 9 months.
Moved back to NJ at 5 years.
Jacksonville at 10.
Kansas City at 13.
Pittsburgh at 16.
Here ever since (I'm in my 30s now)
