Okay, I need suggestions for a specific kind of game... I'm looking for some sort of town building game with combat aspects. Like you build and expand your area while recruiting people to fight off monsters or something. Is there anything like that?

Unfortunately, most of the games I know of that involve base-building also involve base-raiding/destroying. (IE: You get endlessly chain farmed by whales until you have nothing left and quit.)

Aside from Fallout Shelter, I literally can't think of any other ones that are PVE only.

I got all the rewards out of the guardian Tales event except for the Lupina crystals and magic metal. I'd say job well done. I've got 900 magic metal to buy an epic box with but I'm waiting for the patch so I have a chance at getting Beth's ex.

Still can't believe I had enough to buy 2 whole green hammers a few weeks ago lol. Oh, and it resulted in me being able to progress through the tower of light a bit more. Lots of really bullshit floors

My two cents, no real point in rerolling, but if you're not terribly picky...

-Avoid pulling Saren as your tutorial pull. She's ridiculously easy to farm.
-Other meh 3* starters are Anna (debuffs herself after her Union Burst, which isn't too powerful to begin with), Hatsune (super weak UB, not good until her 6* rework), Ninon (just meh), and Akino (tries to tank, heal, and counter all at once, sucks at all three until 6*).
-Maho and Nozomi are easy to farm as well, but both are quite useful (Maho moreso personally, but tanking in year one is probably way different than it was for me in year three).
-Jun/Kyouka/Ilya are not limited, so don't go ham for them whenever they release. All three are pretty hard to farm though, so keep that in mind.
-Ilya in particular is annoying to build around, since her skill kills herself frequently without strong healer support (which is where Maho comes in).

Wow, wanna know something impressive? I was doing the Maritime Attack daily, and fired off 5 torpedoes... And each one went in between a wave of 4 bombing boats <_<

By the way, here's the current going theory for GT

the planet Tetis that the humans sent to colonize is actually just Earth. Somehow they ended up sending a ship to themselves. When they got to earth they brought a weird disease that was brought on board by the mysterious infiltrator which ended up twisting / corrupting the original humans info stuff like teatans and desert elves and shit. And then the colonists conquered the planet led by the disease filled push. So the invaders are actually the original humans trying to take back their own planet & avoid catching the disease in the process.

Yes, Makoto is the de-facto reroll unit.

I passed her up several times while rerolling for New Year Kokkoro though. :P

She eventually spooked me in a free roll, but farming her mempieces is truly suffering. If you ever want her at all, rerolling or hoping she spooks is your best bet.

I'll def reroll for her since I plan on saving my currency until the official launch. Need the best start possible if I'm going 3 months without summoning.

You might want to keep an eye out for Io too. She has the same issue as Makoto in that farming her mempieces is suffering.

But she has a free summer welfare in year two that works just as well, so shes not as high priority.

Looking at posts on Reddit about the soft launch I saw some mentions of the JP version not working on emulators anymore. If that's the case, I'm not sure I want to try since the only way I can play modern mobile games in via emulator.

Tales Of Crestoria is getting a skip function in a couple of days, which will vastly cut down on the time it takes to do dailies. It looks like it'll only work on story quests, power-up quests, and gald quests, so limited event quests and raids will still require grinding the battles one by one. Still, this skip function will make gathering materials and spending excess AP a lot easier. This function has been an absolute godsend in Revue Starlight ReLIVE, which has had the feature since launch, and I haven't seen it in any other gacha that I've played besides those two.

Also, they randomly gave everyone 2,500 gleamstones as a celebration for some IRL event that happened in Japan. Not complaining here, I'll take it.

Priconne can be kind of challenging early on, at least if you're wanting to get 3*'s across the board for each stage. I'm also finding that you run out of energy pretty fast. Still a fun game regardless but it's almost feeling like a side game, similar to Illusion Connect.

You get stamina for days once you get all the refills from the guild house, plus another 200 from daily missions (400 during x2 periods). But skip tickets also empty them equally as fast, so it's rare to spend more than a half hour per session.

On JP, people say to spend gems on refills so you can get to max level quicker, but that's probably not a good idea here until we see how stingy CR is with the currency.

I think a properly-supported Nozomi will carry you through the early game, so I never had that issue with 3*'ing. Hell, I had both Nozomi and New Year Kokkoro, who's basically Nozomi 2.0.

Welp, started Genshin with a reroll acc that has Mona/Fischl (and Mona was on the limited banner so Ganyu is guaranteed). Now just need to rush to AR20 so I can get Xiangling and have a relatively solid party.

I'm still not 100% sure about Ganyu, I'm not huge on Bow characters and she might not be that strong. Ayaka is nearly as cute and looks a lot more fun to play (and also like a good main DPS which I'm lacking in atm), but she's probably not till like March. And Hu Tao is apparently the other 5* with 1.3 and I might want her but idk, need an actual finished model + voice or something first. It'll take a lot of rolls to guarantee a second 5*, even with the Welkin pass thing.

Both Ganyu and Ayaka are going to disappoint in some way. Ganyu has a problem where most of her shit comes from charged shots which is just not a realistic scenario in Spiral Abyss. Ayaka has Mona dodge which is going to be very not good in melee combat.

Really think the best Cryo dps is gonna be Kaeya for a while.

The times for the daily stamina gifts in Priconne are horrible for me. I had the same problem with Illusion Connect where 1 maybe 2 of them were at a good time. I wish these games would just give it to you when you next log in after daily reset.

Yeah, charged attacks are really annoying to do with Bows (and outright impossible if you're playing on mobile). I don't like that several of the characters I like best ended up being Bow users.

Oh well, at least there's always the option of sleeping on the game for a month or two if Ganyu does end up being really bad.

I only play on mobile and I've never had a problem with charged attacks. It seems like it's a device Specific issue

Other charged attacks are fine, it's just bows that are annoying since instead of locking onto whatever enemy you're facing (like Catalyst charge attacks seem to), it takes you into 3rd person mode. But it doesn't automatically aim at an enemy and you've already got your right thumb on the attack button, so you have to either move your right thumb around which doesn't give you much room to aim, or you have to take your left thumb off the control stick area and move it to the center of the phone and then use it to aim which is very awkward.

It sort of works if you're aiming at a stationary target, but actually landing a charged shot in the middle of a fight is not fun.

Oh I never do that I only ever use Aiming mode which forces manual aiming.

The "shunning all impurity" on Ganyu's backstep taunt skill description really makes it sound like she resets or transfers all her aggro to the ice lotus to me.

So it would work great combined with her sniping playstyle IMO.
Other than that, I'm sure they'll nerf it a bit, but her current almost 500% multiplier (frostflake + bloom) on a no cooldown AoE aimed shot is pretty sick.
Especially when you consider her 20% crit rate bonus on successive Frostflakes, 20% cryo bonus from her burst field, 20%-40% crit rate bonus from her artifact 4-set, melt reactions and afaik her high base ATK / cryo dmg. Then her constellations would raise that damage through the roof by dropping cryo resistance and unlocking 2 instant frostflake shots on 12sec cooldown each.

Ganyu sounds about as "disappointing" as Klee to me. Which would be incredibly powerful and highly desirable.

Kaeya and Chongyun are complete garbage compared to her IMO. Though Chongyun could allow some very interesting setups thanks to that new cryo artifact set.

As someone who hates hearing/seeing Japanese honorifics mixed in with English words but applauds creativity, I like this. I want to see just how many different ways (maybe each character who says "onii-chan" has a different one?) they can think of to localize it.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of how this event is structured either. The fact that it looks like (at least if I'm not mistaken, I could be missing something) you can't get enough copies to fully max out the event memoir unless you get lucky with drops in the raids isn't a good sign.

Been a looong time since I played shelter. Do remember you want to build the vault leaving a space between each room sideways and above. Can move dwellers out to another room to put new ones in if needed. Equipping them properly as well? Vaguely remember wanting to keep the population under 60 as well to hold off deathclaw attacks until you're prepared.

I think anyone who dies you can just pay to bring back to life at least though? Still annoying cost at the beginning though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you ever play Tales Of Crestoria, make sure you get Estelle (the base Estelle, not any event costume) along with your favorite character in your opening re-roll. She will make your life so much easier in this game even without awakening her.
