they've been bleeding top talent for a bit now I think.

eh, it's not as bad as it might seem. there's been... 254? (plus another 40 if yumenographia counts) members counting all the branches overall (there might've been some overlap with reincarnations from their old and current chinese branches idk) and a check on the tracker site points to 140ish (near 160 counting yumenographia) still being active (and that's with the entirety of virtuareal falsely being treated as inactive and 50 of them not on the tracker in the first place, so it's probably still comfortably over 200 really).

also just over 100 of the (121) core branch members are still around (with a few more still on hiatus like shiba). Besides Era and probably Roa none of the names in the top 50 have been lost. I guess they also lost Tenkai Tsukasa when the nijisanji network ended who might've counted otherwise (still at 230k subs without their sponsorship) but still.

It's pretty hard to keep track of everything because there's like 30 people on and there's like 5-6 duos spinning off on their own dates.

But Botan seems to be the closest thing to having a handle on running the whole event.

I saw that Lulu's archives will get nuked a few months after retirment, that's a shame her decision though.
I always hope that cover/original songs are kept at minimum cos even when I don't follow the Vtuber I will listen to good covers. I do that a fair bit with Mafumafu.

Coco's final Ark stream was another heavy duty event, tomorrow's gonna be a hell of a day.
Kinda feels like Summer's peaked even though we've still got July and August to go, I just don't see what other landmark events they've got lined up then aside from the anime work, but that's not gonna be stream related.

At least Marine's 1m celebration concert should be fun!

Sadly not the first time I've seen something like this. I saw similar comments (maybe the same guy?) when VShojo announced they were collabing with hololive and doing a pride charity stream. Fortunately they seem to be in the super, super minority, but yeah. Toxic gatekeeping is never a cool look.

if we want to be technical there's a chance one of the XFLAG PARK events for Monster Strike might've had more, which has virtual idol concerts in it. i doubt even if they did scrape near 500k viewers though that it would've been when those concerts were on... so yeah coco almost certainly got the record there

i'm just sad my net crapped out before (re:act's) meguru's graduation ended, and all of that is private now. re:act's up to i think 9 graduations this year technically (counting the loss of the entire male division and 2 others besides meguru, one of whom was on indefinite hiatus since last year anyway...) and i'm very concerned for a lot of their other less popular members

Yeal well hopefully her run lasts many more years.
Post Covid I want to see them fly over the team to JP and have some off collabs with other gens, get the 3D Live Models working, hell maybe do some new year's events too.

Gen 2 is on the way so seeing the success of Gen 1 here's hoping this next batch is also quality.

Yeah, the EN branch is such an anomaly in that they live all over the world compared to the other branches who are at least in the same country. Ive been really enjoying Game Shop Maruyama on the main Hololive channel and Id love an EN equivalent, but getting everyone together regularly like that wouldnt be possible. At least they could still appear in Grafitti together, I guess.

From memory, she was only in Japan on a work Visa to do translation work for the Olympics and got stuck there when Covid hit. Visa expired and she never intended to stay in Japan as long as she did anyway, so she went home. Plus she missed her cats.

Sounds about right to me, she ultimately went back either at the end of Feb or early March. She had a week trip with Calli early Feb for like a farewell gift.
