it's been a while since her and choco were getting excessively banned, that was more of a mid 2020's thing. it was especially bad for choco since she drew the ire of chinese nationalist antis (long, long before coco and hachama), and her channel was actually SUPER fast growing until she got hit with repeated attacks, bans, shadowbans, etc.

anyway, when mel debuted her new costume she also revealed that her model for her original costume had been updated as well. she streams pretty often using both her original and the new costume, uses her original costume on thumbnails still. I would say she used the new costume a lot more at first but now she has gone back to using her old costume often enough without getting into any trouble. it seems like it solely depends on her mood rather than trying to avoid the ire of youtube at this point.

Ah okay, thanks for the context. I'd heard about her bans and with Kiara's ban and repeated shadow bans and Noel's banned stream the other week, I figured it was a more recent thing.

I was expecting Ame's reveal to be pretty tame based on the silhouette, but the gun and butt scratch really helped elevate it above the others.

Gura's stream felt like a milestone event with the sheer crazy hype even though everyone knew what was coming.

Kinda liked how Towa didn't just do fan ideas and instead went more for her character design's history.
Hoping Luna gets a new outfit later on with some Monster Hunter shit given how addicted she is to that series...or just give her a Tony Hawk outfit.

So there's that clip but it's from otakmori who is the bad subber so I'm not really sure how to take it.
But it's about Matsuri discussing the cost the Hololive members need to pay out of pocket to produce their own original songs.
It seems to be a pretty big number.

Think Lamy mentioned on another stream how all the merch is kinda paid for by the talent themselves too, which would explain why someone like Mel or Choco have so little compared to your Gen 3 talents.

Kinda makes one wonder how cover spends money if they can't support their talent on those types of projects. Expanding a little too quickly? Spending what they can on marketing to try and maintain their current growth?
