Timothy Olyphant had to wash that armor at some point.

Also part of what Boba Fett looked so cool was the battle-worn look of his armor. Hell, it's why I prefer the initial look of Mando, makes it look like dude's seem some shit.

There is a Boba Fett spinoff in production - not much is known about it, but it's obviously not going to be a prequel to The Mandalorian stuff because then he would never have his armor and who wants to watch that show.

Ok as for my actual predix - you can read this one safely.

Fennec seems like complete cannon fodder. Also if Carl Weathers somehow shows up I think he's a goner

That's why my CRAZY (spoiler free) prediction is Boba Fett gets recruited to be a part of the Rangers of the New Republic by Cara Dune

Kind of unsure what I think of the episode...

I like the action of this show a lot, but it's weakest when it's the main cast just mowing down useless storm troopers which is what a majority of this episode was. I'll take the Ashoka fight/Mando western showdown from a few episodes ago a hundred times over before I watch a bunch of faceless soldiers run into a hallway to get destroyed. I realized about 10 minutes in that unlike the end of S1 that everyone was going to make it out alive - there just didn't seem like there were any stakes compared to S1 where it seemed like NO ONE was making it out alive.

The fan service parts of it are fine. I got hype when I saw the green lightsaber, but then in rolls R2 which reminded me of "HEY REMEMBER THIS?" and I kind of rolled my eyes. I've said it earlier in this topic that the thing I like most about this show is how far removed it is from actual Star Wars, and this was to me maybe the most Star Wars the show has been and as a result a lot of it fell kind of flat. There was very little interesting acting, dialogue, or set pieces, and it was a lot of just running through hallways and shooting. Even Moff Gideon did not seem as threatening as he normally does which I just attribute to weaker dialogue.

Anyway, as for the show going forward, I am interested in where they are taking it. Obviously the heart of the show was Mando/Grogu's relationship. Will there be a time skip to a point where they are back together for some reason or another? Is it going to now be an arc of Mando darksaber shenanigans? Will it take some time off and The Book of Boba Fett kind of act as a S3? Lets be real - Grogu is a merchandising and storytelling dream and if they remove him from the show forever I think Favreau is smart enough to know what would be a mistake, but who knows, maybe he's bold enough to say that story is done and end it.

I know I said a lot of negative things but to be clear I didn't DISLIKE the episode. Just compared to the bangers that were the highs of this season this one felt flat.

This episode is everything I wanted the sequel trilogy to be.

The ending of this episode with Mando taking off his helmet to say goodbye to Grogu.

The ways Mando has broken free of the tradition of the helmet must always be worn when he is so much more successful when not. The contrast between that and how Bo-Katan is not wanting to take the Darksaber because she wasn't the one who bested Moff Gideon in combat, despite being the first person to truly try and get him to stop the helmet. This is just... so beautiful

I got the sense from the book of Boba part at the end like they were saying Din and Grogus story was done and Boba would be the main character going forward. I cant imagine Disney would actually do that, but that was how it came across to me the way they presented it, especially since the main story seemed to wrap up with such a sense of finality.

I can't imagine they would do that. Grogu is a cash cow for them and they have to resolve the Din/Bo'Katan story.

If anything I would think the Boba stuff is another spinoff as opposed to S3.

How are we supposed to feel with the whole "removing his helmet whenever he feels like it" thing?

Is this him being an individual and breaking free from irrelevant restrictions that were passed down to him by his (supposedly extremist) sect? Because other than comments made by Bo Katan there hasn't really been much said about Din's brethren. And she seems to be getting set up to be a foil moving forward so I'm not inclined to buy into her opinions on the matter.

I'm just not sure if the show wants me to have positive or negative feelings about the group of Mandalorians that Din was raised with and if that plays into his evolving stance on helmet wearing.
