Most hated...literally who the fuck are you?

I would legit like to know who came up with the last minute desperation move of "let's try and pull the LGBT+ community over to Trump", lol.

Yeah but like who is this woman specifically?

She said she is the most hated lesbian on the internet, that's quite a claim.

Pretty sure the internet hates that chick from Ghostbusters 2016 more.

Basically if Biden wins it will be because of white suburban women. Trump is gaining ground or holding steady with most other groups.

He never had Bidens support with the black community though which is the entire reason he lost the primary in the first place.

I mean he was the better option so they shouldve gone with him anyway but thats a different argument entirely.

Reminder: Puerto Rico would probably be a swing state, and even if it were a safe blue state the GOP would still have a huge advantage in the Senate.

(We should make it a state anyway if Puerto Rico wants it, but only because it's the right thing to do. It just doesn't really change the balance of partisan power.)

Definitely expand the court. And then place limits on the number of justices so that the Republicans can't turn around and add more. Tell Moscow Mitch "Elections have consequences."

I still think expanding the court will be bad in the long term (though Dems would certainly be morally justified in doing so).

DC should definitely be made a state (though it always should have been). Puerto Rico should only be made a state if that's what Puerto Ricans want.

Abolishing the electoral college would be great, but actually doing it requires a constitutional amendment, and the interstate compact scares the shit out of me with the possibility of SCOTUS declaring it's invalid and swapping the results. Really what you would want is a constitutional amendment that both abolishes the electoral college *and* guarantees the right to vote for any American citizen who's over 18 and not currently incarcerated.

Court expansion isn't popular enough right now. Sadly we need some truly terrible rulings from the new SC to sway voters.

Think of how Obamacare was unpopular until people suddenly saw the GOP ready to take it away. If the SC rules the ACA unconstitutional you can bet your ass people will suddenly approve of a court expansion.

Expanding the court makes court expansion a legitimate tactic for both sides going forwards. It would also turn off moderates and make the inevitable backlash against the Democrats even worse than usual. It's entirely possible the result would be a temporary win for the Dems, followed by the election of a GOP majority large to reverse it and amend the Constitution to prevent future reform attempts.

Honestly, we should just start ignoring all Supreme Court rulings. Invalidate the whole thing. They're pretty worthless anyway. After all, if they can change their mind on things like Roe and Obergefell, they can change their mind on Brown vs Board or literally anything. Their decisions have zero relevance and should just be ignored.

It's important to me that, if I mail in my ballot, and then the rules about what ballots should have are changed after I send mine, my vote still counts. It is not important to the conservative justices on the Supreme Court, except Roberts. At present, with Barrett, Roberts won't be enough.

Agreed. If people actually lose their health insurance via a supreme court ruling, there will be an immediate wave of backlash.

Now I'm thinking - ever since the 24 hour cable news industry (and social media in the last decade) have polarized our politics and shined an intense light on every public figure, what has been the most controversial or impactful Supreme Court decision?

Basically, which SC decision has fucked over the most people in the last 20 years? I'm trying to gauge if anything possibly approaches a repeal of Obamacare.

In order to get rid of the two party system we need to get rid of the Electoral College and need Ranked Choice voting. We'll never get there, though, because that requires a constitutional amendment and the EC benefits small states in ways in which they don't want to give up.
