I'd fight back as best I could. They'd be worse than Trump. If the European Union invaded, I'd have to think about what to do.

I'd soak in one last look at the sun in the sky and try to treasure that memory.

Because anyone who survives the exchange of warheads will be dealing w/ a nuclear winter for quite a while.

US could hold their own against an invasion like that. Air superiority is key to winning modern wars, and the US air capabilities is close to double that of China and Russia combined.

Not to mention our general civilian population being well-armed. An invasion of the US certainly isn't impossible, but even given the strength of a combined Russia-China offensive, the US would be a hard place to take over

This is of course assuming things didn't devolve into nuclear assault as others have pointed out. If nukes are involved China and Russia are gonna have a bad day, too.

But yeah I live between Boston and Providence, probably be close to a nuke and can kiss my ass goodbye if I don't get fair warning and head to zee hills

Overlooking that it would first require China and Russia to work together when they're more competitors these days, they'd need a pretty substantial pretext to invade the US and at that point they'd need a rebel faction to back. China doesn't get along with Trump (although they support Beijing Biden, since he's already in their pocket and has vowed to undo every tariff the day he gets into office) and Russia doesn't get along with Biden (because he supports Ukrainian oligarchs). So the odds of a collab are low.

More importantly, the US has the world's strongest military by far. While Russia and China are #2 and #3, it's a war across the sea so the odds would be against them even before factoring in international response which has traditionally been *very* anti-Russia.

And because other nations aren't also pulling the US's strings and the US apparently doesn't pull strings in China, Russia, and everywhere else.

Not the full-blown kind with paragraphs full of facts that, in a sane world, might be asked "Hey, can you remind me where we get this information from? I've forgotten." That is how I mean by responding, because to that end I am done.

China wouldn't bother. They're going to own the entire planet by next century anyway, and of all world cultures China has always been the one most capable of just sitting back and focusing on the long-term. Better to move slow and get the guaranteed win than rush and risk losing.

Why would California join them? They are a freedom loving state, it's Trumpsters who worship an authoritarian and have lines like "I'd rather be Russian than a democrat"

you're also forgetting that we're basically the only Major Power with a proper deep-water navy, and we only keep half the carriers at sea under normal circumstances. we could leave half the fleet guarding the coast, and send the other half out to strangle the soviet-sino axis from a distance they couldn't even pretend to threaten.

if we're leaving nukes off the table and keeping this to more or less traditional warfare, we're pretty damned invincible.

Oh look, an Entity shitpost that you're walking away from as soon as you're called on that post being a shitpost. Just think how much extra time and energy you would have had if you didn't post your usual brand of nonsense in the first place.

And yet I'm always the one stuck providing reputable citations where, at best, the people I'm arguing with will post some shady alt-news but most of the time they just really feel that it's true in their heart of hearts.

Well, the rest of the world's inaction is certainly helping them make headway (or, in the case of things like the world bank, spurring them along), but the CCP itself will likely drastically change before the the end of the next century because it's getting harder and harder for them to suppress information from their own people, even with their Golden Shield.

You've vastly underestimated China's reliable on foreign trade. Without trading partners, China is kinda fucked. For their economy to avoid collapsing in on itself, they need other nations a lot more than other nations need them. Worst case scenario for other nations is that they move their production to other places that pay terrible wages and have morally questionable labor practices; there are no end of countries like that.

This is what I was driving at.

Wasn't "forgetting" the naval aspect as much as I was avoiding turning my post into a long rant putting the US's military up on a pedestal but yeah, we're pretty fucking stacked

OH PLEASE! You can't tell me Californians, hell ANYONE on the west coast would SALIVATE at the words "People's Republic of California."

See, California is back-ass-wards when it comes to taking action or coming up with reasons to do anything. It would look at an impending invasion, prepare in most parts, and then the idiots in charge would word their declaration against China so bad that the state BECOMES China's, confusing everyone and angering many. Portland, OR, would find some quirky way to combat an invasion before the whole state falls, but that won't stop highway patrol from pulling over tanks that are going too fast on some stretch of highway, and someone at the gas pump getting angry at an invader for filling up their own vehicle. Meanwhile, in WA, there would be such a divide in attitudes depending on where you go, such as most of the Sound area being so against the invaders, and then Centralia plus the east side of the state would be against the invaders and the libs alike to the point where they attack both, causing Tacoma, Seattle, Olympia, et al., to buckle under pressure that it would have handled just fine if it had come from overseas rather than inland as well.
