https://www.houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas/article/Texas-surpassed-1-million-votes-on-first-day-of-15647238.php

More than a million Texans have already cast ballots after just the first day of early voting.
And the state isnt even finished counting the first days numbers.
Record breaking early voting, combined with unusually high mail-in ballot returns show Texas has already surpassed 1 million votes with still three more weeks of voting come.

I was one of those 1 million+, woo woo

Ironically all these "Trump's Election Army" posts have motivated the Left to get out and vote early

I think Trump's administration in general is the motivator. I've said for years that the silver lining of Trump's presidency will be that it motivates more people to participate in our political process. We've had low voter turnout for far too long.

Honestly, the main reason I think for such a high voter turnout this year is primarily because of Trump's constant voter suppression methods. He knows he can only win with less people voting and this is motivating others to do just the opposite.

i just hope these early poll numbers hold up and the turnout stays consistent. it's possible these early surges are the enthusiastic crowd demonstrating their enthusiasm and not representative of everyone

As someone that lives in Texas, I wouldn't be surprised if this is more Trump sucking good ole boys rather than Democratic Texans like people are hoping.

It seems to be pretty consistent from what I see. over 14 and a half million have voted already in states that report it.

Early voting like this heavily favors the challenger, if GOP spin from 2012 is to be believed.

But the other thing to consider is that Texas really isn't that dense outside of the more urban/suburban areas, which are largely blue.

It's by no means a sure thing, but there is a real possibility we could see Texas turn blue for this election.

https://www.texastribune.org/2016/11/11/harris-county-turned-blue/

Trump won just 544,960 votes in Harris County. In 2000, President George Bush won 529,159. Meanwhile, total Democratic votes for the top of the ticket increased from 418,267 in 2000 to 706,471 this year.

in case any morons think this means it's republicans showing up to vote--they don't live in harris county
