This was the first canning cycle on a new machine. The lager is less expensive to produce and fine tune a machine with. The next canning run will be an IPA, since they still are the highest selling style of craft beer.

Penny hops is related to cannabis sensitivity. Cilantro soap is just a deficiency of some humans.

IPAs are shitty beers that had to survive a trip by sea around the south tip of Africa back before ships had motors and refrigeration. they weren't brewed to taste good, they were brewed to be shelf-stable. how they caught on in the age of electricity and indoor plumbing as a thing is beyond me. i don't see many people diluting their jelly-consistency wine with water like the romans, and yet there's more IPAs at the gas station up the road than anything else. go figure.

Because of the variations of hops, alpha vs beta acids, taste vs aroma.

As much as I've expressed my distaste for IPA's despite going thru that phase back in my 20's before most people under the age of 200 knew what an IPA was since they're literally from the age of sail power, I'll defend a good pilsner.

They're great for day drinking as long as you still have shit to do while the sun shines that doesn't include "driving on public roads" or "operating heavy machinery" or "running a chainsaw".

A pilsner is perfectly fine for maintaining a decent buzz while still being cookout-functional.

A small local brewery in my town makes an outstanding porter.

They have another beer that they're better known for around town, I think it was a lager. Everybody talks about how great it is, but I tried it and thought it tasted exactly like Five Alive. Beer should taste like beer.
