I wouldn't speculate because I have no idea what his real medical condition is, since nobody's saying anything right now. Besides, since he and his WH have lied about so many things so often, it makes it nearly impossible to believe anything that they say about anything, which includes the President's health.

Doubly so since we've found multiple effective treatments to minimize symptomatic time and severity since this whole thing started. Assuming he doesn't have any underlying conditions that exacerbate things, he should be fine in about a week, with almost no major negative after-effects.

People just hear raw mortality statistics and don't really understand what they mean. Most of the people dying from this tend to be already immuno-compromised in some way - it's why a lot of casualties are coming from poorer elderly who already have health and nutrition issues (especially in nursing homes), or lower-income individuals who can't get top-tier treatment. Even for his age group, he's got a baseline recovery chance of somewhere around 90% or so. Once you factor in other variables, it goes up considerably.

With someone who has his level of wealth and influence, not only is treatment going to be as superior as possible, but years worth of personal shoppers and paid chefs means he's probably nutritionally superior to most people on this board, so he's starting ahead of the game.

Sure, it's possible he could die, but I'd be extremely shocked if he does.

I guess his increased risk due to obesity and coronary artery disease isn't worth mentioning?

A lot of people here seem to be under the impression that you can effectively stave off death from COVID-19 with preventative or active care. If a patient needs a ventilator and starts rapidly deteriorating, there's often not much that can be done other than wait it out and hope for improvement. I'm not saying that he won't live, but him being the president doesn't really improve his odds compared to others in his risk group (assuming everyone is in a facility that isn't over-crowded).

Not that big of a risk factor. And the reason why obesity gets mentioned is because it's often tied to *other* conditions. And it's always worth remembering that BMI wasn't created by a doctor or even a scientist

My reply points out that McDonald's and fast food is a meme associated with Bill Clinton, not Trump. Whether or not Trump also eats fast food -- as many presidents have done -- is less immediately relevant, because he doesn't have the same association with fast food that Bill Clinton has had. In fact, the only Trump fast food reference I can think of offhand is the "hamberders" ending to the Deal or No Deal skit on SNL which was a throwaway at the end of a very long skit.

The overwhelming majority of people trump's age survive covid. He has access to some of the best healthcare in the world. But, of course, the next couple weeks are gonna be littered with clickbait articles preying on the psychotic level of excitement that leftists have about the prospect of him dying

He's probably got a better chance than I do, and since I'm not dead yet going with he'll probably make it through it.

Now the shape he's in after is what remains to be seen.
