If you know what you're doing, I think you can casually complete the main story in under 5 hours. It doesn't take more than an hour to get the Master Sword.

I think it was about an hour for me, going for all heart pieces and such. But there isnt much in between the dungeons

My little bro wrapped up the game once when I was passing by his TV

The timer at the end read 6:18

Even without getting everything, I never could do it that fast

for one, it doesn't have tons of time-wasting moments like OoT

and also, you're probably not having to learn the game as you go either, like we would as kids. no getting stuck wondering where to go what to do etc.

Dude, I completely agree! I played through the game a few months ago and was shocked how quickly I finished it, ok?

I remember it took me a long time to finish the game. I was too busy with school to play everyday, and I wasn't good at many parts of the game.

I finished Turtle Rock tonight, and ready to go and take on Ganon.
I am having fun, but replaying it, its definitely not as good as I remember.

Links in the rear view mirror may appear shorter than they are (not Link Pizza though, I hear he's longer).

I played through ALttP last year on my SNES Mini.
It's a fun game but short.

It's also pretty fun to fool around with glitches such as that one glitch that allows you to clip through the floor and lets you explore almost the whole game lol

The thing people always need to remember is that it felt long at the time because we were comparing it to stuff like Zelda 1 and 2.

I know you can beat Zelda 2 in a single night (without speed run glitches and bullshit, just casually playing the game the way it was meant to be played), because I did it while drunk at a friend's house years ago. We started sometime around like 11pm or so, then finished around 3-4am.

It was helped by the fact that I remembered where pretty much everything was and the layout of all the dungeons (in spite of the fact that I hadn't played the game in like 15 years at that point), so there was almost no screwing around or getting lost to eat up time.

Obviously all early RPGs and adventure games are going to feel short when you're comparing them to stuff today where they gloat about taking 80+ hours just to get through the main campaign.

Also keep in mind that games tend to get more concise in terms of length once you have already played it at least once before because you don't spend time trying to figure out wtf you're supposed to do or where something is.

ALttP has a very dense overworld and convenient warp placement, though conversely the dungeons have quite a few optional rooms. There's also not as much mandatory dialogue compared to later games in the series and text moves very fast compared to quite a few later games, too.

ALttP has a lot of bosses, resulting in fewer heart pieces (still more to find than the previous two games). Going off on a tangent, one of my complaints with SS was that it had about the same # of heart pieces to find as ALttP, an early 90's game. Twilight Princess compensated for its large # of bosses by splitting heart containers into five pieces, but Skyward Sword went back to four and worse still, started you out with six hearts, effectively eliminating 12 heart pieces to search for.

I've beaten it over a hundred times over the years and, consequently, I tend to think of it being pretty short especially because I know all the things that speed it up and tend to use them.

It's a good overall length, especially since the first few playthroughs can be longer and there a few hidden items. Technically one of them, the ice rod, is probably needed for Trinexx and something else.

As much as I LBW, I still have only beaten it once.

Yeah, which is one of the things I really loved about it. There was a feeling of purpose to most of the map rather than just filler.

And I think the minimal dialogue is probably why I'm more inclined to replay it than LBW.

Well if you want to make the experience longer and enjoy Super Metroid you can play Randomized Super Metroid+Lttp. This makes the game far more challenging potentially and you constantly have to from game to game getting items, you can find Super Metroid items in Lttp and vice versa.
